@caca: Er, chill... What do you care if he's done freelance work for a project with sprites *made by a different person* that may or may not be ripped (I have no idea if they are)?
In any case, sweet backgrounds :)
You are a troll. You go: "I don't know and don't care, but you rip the graphics, because I say so." That is hilarious position, to be honest. :D
For me, hero sprite served as a measure unit, and a tool to set the scale. It's not mine, but it was needed to proceed with the work.
I don't know why I'm explaining this to a troll, lol. Maybe I want to get more hilarious accusations.
Don't care who made this. It was there, people concerned got the message. Oh ok, so tracing over is not rip? Absurd.
Um, if you took the time to read the description, you'll notice that the character was not made by Sohei. I asked him to remove it, so I did see it. The sprite was very similar in regards to the Megaman sprite (still not a rip though), but it doesn't matter because it's not his, and to say "your stuff IS ripped from Rockman Zero! Knew it" is unfair.
The point still stands. You're not fooling me. You updated and removed those sprites clearly copied from the game.
Sir? Wrong person.
I think sprites are not ripped but instead drawn side by side with original sprites of Megaman Zero to get the same feeling with that game. Backgrounds are not ripped for sure but heavily influenced instead.
This is good or bad depends on how much you like the original. I like the art in general .
I can see the influence, but ripped...? That's a pretty big accusation and you have nothing to support that.
Caca, Sohei did not rip anything, and you should stop making wild allegations. Even if your comment was aimed at me, you should not post that here on his work. He did an honest, fantastic job, and you have no place commenting this kind of BS on his art.
This is very clearly not ripped from Megaman Zero, Caca.
I think the presentation of these backgrounds is better now, Sohei. Great job again! :)
It's amazing! Loving that nebula-like composition of stars on the first one, gives the piece a lot of character!
MY stuff? Sir, I am offended and demand an apology. I did my job honesty and fair as a freelancer background artist.
I just realized, your stuff IS ripped from Rockman Zero! Knew it.
Shame on you.
Shame on you.
Shame on you.
Shame on you.
These backgrounds look great!
I think they'd actually have a better presentation without the character in them (mainly because the character isn't doing anything, and it isn't your work anyhow).
Only suggestion I'd have is for the city to have some futuristic cards flying around in the background to help with the idea that it's "alive." :)
Looks really great! Awesome colors and it does well in contrasting with the sprite.
However, if the character sprite is not yours, it shouldn't be in the mockup. I'd say we could let this slide since it's only a character sprite and you informed us in the description, but you should link to the orginal artist or his/her name assuming you have permission to use it in your piece.
whooa.... The sky... The city... Amazing! O_O
I've seen a lot of mockup about futuristic adventure game, but THIS ONE is outstanding, especially the first screen shot.
Really well done...
Hot damn, this looks incredibly gorgeous. While I do like the main character, the background are just amazeballs. Congratulations on such a nice piece of awesomeness!
Wow, this is so Rockman-Zero-ish. Dat pose, that door, that ladder.
The ceiling of the lower image that keeps dropping 1 pixel is really distressing me. Why do you do this to us? It looks like it'll be a tiling nightmare :(
