I really both the contrast in the colours and the beautiful textures and details, I personally think it's fantastic even with purple in the shadows (quite a creative use of the colour I think).
That would make it look better but I don't want to make the tileset too complicated to use.
Good work
just a suggestion : I would have put more shadows, on the roof, next to the stairs etc. ..
I first noticed the purple reflection on the tree I think, since it's most prominent there, and after that on some walls and the stone railings. it's also well visible on the right side of the red roofs I think. those are the places where it's strongest. In the rest of the picture this lighting isn't visible; thus it feels kinda inbalanced to me (not to mention the question what's the source of this peculiar purple light, but I'm willing to make a leap into "artistic license" ;)).
I would try and apply it more evenly distributed (grass, bushes, flowers, wooden stairs, timber and firsts of the houses, maybe even the curb/streets etc.). Might be too much then, but then again, what's the reason for it being there (besides some colorful side reflection mostly always looks nice, I would agree on that ;)?.
Anyway, as already said, I really like it :)
Yes they're stairs, but I think I might redo them to be more clear. I didn't want them to look too clean next to the stone floor but I think I didn't make them clean enough.
Also if you could point out the inconsistencies in the purple reflections I'd appreciate it.
adorable! ;)
are those stairs at center, 11 o' clock and 1 o' clock? seems a bit unclear to me, wether those are stairs or slopes, especially the latter one. (side view thingy).
have you tried giving a small front to the curb that's facing down (towards viewer)?
love the purple reflections, too. not sure though if they completely work, since in some places they ain't there.
Great tileset. I know how hard it is to make descent houses. Good Job!
the entire thing reminds me of Seiken Densetsu 3.
The tops of the stairs look a bit too clipped on if that makes sense. Majority is very nicely done.
The dithering on the sides of the houses seems a little out of place, but I really like the rest! The trees remind me of Seiken Densetsu 3.
I saw this in development in the forums. Looks great.
This is good insiiration for me.
