Easter egg for buried project.
Dude. You're amazing
spot on colours!
So funny and well done!
Those muscle ripples though.
Great animation. Especially the ears flap nicely. The texture of the skin is awesome. It's grey but definitely not dull. Cheers!
His tail is hypnotizing=)
Ian, thanks for your input, I appreciate it. All of this is good and true.
As for the piece - it is 3-4 years old and the older it gets (or me?=) the more obvious flaws become. But since project sims to be sunk down I can't see a point to spent time on fixing it. If it comes from the dead one days I'll definitely will take all that into consideration. Thanks again.=)
Great lighting, rendering, and palette. The constrast in scale makes this sprite fun! The animation is also fun and meticulously detailed, but it feels like separate parts moving rather than contributing to/reacting from an overall moverment. Is he struggling to move with his tiny wings? Is he scared of the wings, which seem to have a mind of their own? It's hard for me to tell.
I really love what you've done with the rhythm of the tail movement, I wish that style of secondary motion was applied to the trunk. The legs seem disconnected, they move a bit randomly. I think they could reinforce the floaty feel of the sprite if they dangled free or pedaled the air in tiny circles (only moving a few pixels, but mimicing the motion of a bicycle rider).
I like the way the ears flap like flags, but the movement feels extreme given the speed the wings are flapping. Some of the notches disappear in frames. The wings seem to stick in the middle of their range of movement. What if they pause after the emphasized down stroke instead?
The wrinkle movement might be overkill. I wonder if the eyes could use an accent color. A sky blue perhaps? Sorry if this post is sounding negative, these are small crits overall. Great to see you making more pixel pieces!
just incredible, shading, color palette, animation. I love this, like the other ones from your gallery.
YES! You are still making pixel art! What a good time to be alive!
- Looks good as usual. -
The palette is awesome...
lmao i was just reading an article about subpixels with metal slug samples (elephant included :P)
nice one :D love the hueshifted shadows
hahahaha that funny
btw, amazing piece :D
Ahhhh, as always this is wonderful. Your animation is an inspiration to pixel artists everywhere.
LOVE THIS!!! *SCREAMS!!!*
My goodness. You're every pixellers hero for good reason
The subtlety in the movement of his legs is incredible, you can almost feel his leathery skin. My only problem is with the trunk, it feels like the movement isnt quite synchronized, and like it should be flopping more.
Other than that, this peice is awesome!
