Gosh, I love how you do pixels!
I like both this version and the original, but the dramatic lighting and palette choices work very well with this piece. It's inspiring me to work on reducing the number of colours I work with for future projects.
Thank you as well, by the way, for your feedback on the deviantART version of my submission (I will respond to it eventually, but I blocked the site until I'm done with all my exams!)
this is amazing! lovely design and great pallete :D love it <3
Ahhhh thank you so kindly! It's always so nice to know when all the work and practice pays off, I'm all double star-struck here :.D
Excellent clusterwork and brilliant colours.
Your work is getting better and better with every piece, Kat

Thank you so kindly! I wasn't expect this result when I selected the palette so I was quite pleased
The colors are so beautiful! And with this dark shape around!
no worries, a few tweaks here and there and you'll have an even prettier piece :)

Thank you! :D I had a lot of fun with this palette. I wasn't expecting the lighting to look so dramatic when I started. I laid the dark colors on her helmet down first and decided to roll with it XD Where I put the light source though was awkward, I haven't done something like this yet. T'was fun :D

ACK! I forgot to color the outline!! Thank you so much for pointing that out, it's sitting there sticking out like a sore thumb lol I must have been getting impatient with the pic if that elephant managed to sneak past me.
Manupix;
That is some fantastic feedback, thank you so much! I'm going to tweak that today and revise the whole thing now that I've gone some time without looking at it (I find after looking at the same image that you've been working on for so many hours straight, it's easy to see things as they are in your head instead of how they actually look XD)
I've been working on developing my coloring technique, and I find I end up moving back and step before going up two in some aspect or another while evolving. My current issue is I tend to sometimes compromise readability in areas so it's something I need to pay close attention to. I know what I'm doing so I'm like "I KNOW WHAT THIS IS, S'ALL GOOD" lol *ramble ramble*

Aw thank you so much! I would absolutely love some crits, from the big things right down to nitpicking. I give credit of any progress I've made to the feedback I've recieved here so keep it coming XD Your feedback specifically is always very helpful and valuable.
An extra thank you for noticing too haha. I said to someone on DA, while working on Kit Fisto, that I wanted it to be a defining pixel for me that would start a visible curve in my learning path.You just made my day, sir.
Jinn;
Thank you so very kindly! I both admire and draw much inspiration from your work so I'm all star struck here lol
shadowing is abit off at some spots and her left sock is rough (the upper outline) compared to the really smooth shading overall, but apart from that great job, lovely colors aswell.
Serious improvement!
I think there is room for better readability in some areas like her left arm / hand (I just noticed it extends backward), but I can't explain how to do it, other than making sure each pixel contributes information, mostly volume.
Her right upper arm should be in shadow, for both light consistency and readability.
You've improved a lot, not just in the nine months since the original piece but even just in the last two months in general. Between this and Kit Fisto, you've come quite far in a short amount of time.
Interested in some crits?
Nice to see some Dragon Quarter fanart here. And even nicer evolution of yours, congrats!
