For all your concern it turns out the hair is the best part (besides the idea).

Yeah, the eyes did look a tad too high after you pointed that out, so I dropped them (as well as the rest of the top half of the head) by one pixel. I also made the cheek highlights a bit less harsh.

I love your unique take on the challenge, and you did an excellent job on the hair.  I bet you could have put some AA on the text, though.  Maybe used the pink she's laying on.

You've done this quite well, though there are a few problems with the face. I feel as though the eyes are too high and just moving them down one pixel would help quite a lot, and the highlights on the cheeks are quite harsh and solid-looking, particularly on the right where it's placed right next to a shade that's three steps down the colour ramp. Other than that, though, it's good, and a clever take on the challenge.
