Stunning work! Very successful as both pixel and "ink." Besides the mirroring, is there any tile reuse here?
@ clefairykid
Thank you!
Sure, go ahead! I'd love to see your piece. :)
this is very inspiring, I'd also like to try out that pallette and ink style, although with some more organic and less symmetrical, if I could XD
Very cool! It does looked inked at first glance. The symmetry is a bit strange though.
@ bobo
Thank you very much, bob!
Haha, adulthood surely has its benefits.
@ Emperor
You are too kind, chap! Thanks a ton! :)
@ Vinsanity
Thank you very much!
Hehe, frankly stuff like this has been appearing quite often in my gallery. I love to pixel faces, eyes and anatomical features. Sometimes symmetry is just a great way to express these things easily.
That's cool, thanks a lot! It's just the best thing for an artist to hear someone getting inspired by their work:)
@ pixelarg
It's supposed to be a troll or something out of a fantasy novel. My main goal with this was to get some kind of ink effect going. This piece is more a technique experiment, but I get what you mean.
Thanks!
@ Slemsvamp
I really didn't want to destroy the symmetry.
Quite an exploration of the medium and very impressive.
After reading CELS comment, it kind of reminds me of this.
wow, looks amazing!!! :) it sort of reminds me of groot from guardians of the galaxy haha :D
the symmetricity also makes it look a little more abstract and fresh:)
which leads me to a question: hasn't symmetric pixelart sort of become your signature thing? :D because I have been noticing, that your other works also feature symmetricity in some way ^^ either way your pieces of pixelart are very recognizable and unique :D seeing stuff like this really motivates me to keep going. again, great job
Well, sorry but I dont like. To be a human face is disproportionate, too to be a goat or an animal like that, if it otherwise, has the widely spaced eyes . In any case, good details / patterns, but not complement the picture and do not help create a strong concept, as should use those things
I think flipping one of either eyes horizontally would make sense.
This comment is all an artist can wish for! I feel flattered and cajoled.
Thank you ever so much! :)
Oh man... This is one of my favourite (if it's not simply my favourite) pixel art ever!
This is absolutely awesome and gorgeous... I'm totally stunned. I have no words.
Your technique and the feeling of this piece are amazing...
Fantastic work! Keep it up!
@rhlstudios
Haha, too kind, Kat! Always great to hear you opinion, thank you very, very much. :)
@ prof4d
Cheers!
I believe It's important to try out new and different things from time to time and leave the comfort-zone.
@ Natsu_Firefox
Woha, I think that goes too far. ;)
Thank you very much though!
Wow. Wooooow, wow wow wow. This is simply stunning, like jaw-dropping stunning. This is inspiration incarnate. My god.
Great!
I think that many of us have such things. Sometimes there are no ideas for the next picture or just want to experiment with some style and you can just relax, with an abstract painting without thinking about the end result.
Superb! Your profile has displayed some of the best art Ive ever seen.
@ -DE-
Thanks a lot.
I'd like to apply this style on something like a landscape or an original character. Enough mirrored faces for now though.
@ beetleking
Thank you, beetle! Glad you dig it. :)
Good stuff!
Not something you'd do everyday, or more than once, really, but an amusing exercise.
Awesome compliment, thank you very much!
No worries, glad you like it. :)
I didn't think one could "pencil sketch" so well with pixels. I want to try this. Thanks for doing it.
Lovely work!
@ Finlal
Hehe, I'm starting to see all kinds of faces and weird bodies as well.
Is it one of those pictures which becomes something different if you're looking upside down?
I see a bug sitting on a stub. was it drawn like this intentionally?
UPD. Always should read previous comments before posting yours.
@ Friend
Huuuge compliment! Thank you very much for that!
Yeah, throwing in some of these into the mix from time to time shouldn't be a shame.
@ ADrawingMan
Thanks a ton! Haha, nor am I.
I had to do it though... in order to keep my sanity. ;)
@ CELS
Thank you very, very much for the great reply.
Your are right. I tried to work with more hatching around the large shadows, but it really made the piece look too busy in the end. And, of course, it was harder to get a good texture that way.
Haha, that is awesome. I absolutely didn't do that on purpose. It's amazing what you found in there, it made me spill out my coffee all over the screen. Especially that Siddharta thing cracks me up! The other finds are too cool as well. The female thing reminds me of some kind of japanese mythical creature.
Keeping the highlight is more of a style choice, I didn't want to break up the symmetry.
I think there's a place for mirrored art despite it being criticized usually. This is how it's done :]
mo love it
@ big_brother
Thank you very much, that means a lot coming from you. :)
There is, just one tile though. I reused the grey stripes you see along the outline, around the nose and on its chin.
