This... Is friggin' amazing. It's so smooth and beautiful. All the shapes too!
great , i think I'll take it as an inspiration for smoke effects
Compositing is just a nice wrapping paper. I'm glad you likes what s in it !
I didn't submit a frame cuz i think each frames of an animation is part of a sub-part.
On the opposite an image is supposes to be a snapshot in time, suggesting the past/futur.
I guess it would feel wrong submiting a lonely frame and promote it as a piece of his own.
But thanks for you kind words.
i dont know what to think about the noise and its creation process, but this looks good!
Why not submit a still frame into the challenge? Each and every frame is beautiful on its own - truly a masterpiece!
No worries, man - highly deserved!
And Cheers for the link, some really trippy stuff. :)
It's like... NOTHING IN EGGSTIENCE(no reason for egg joke, just that's what came to mind)
I remembered Ratatouille right away when I saw it.
Really love those effects, whole lotta stuff to learn from it.
Also, thanks for the link to that channel!
Mandril> Wow , huge compliment here =) i'm touched !
Michel Gagné had a strong influence on my FXs, I love his work on Ratatouille .
If Disney made pixel art, it would look like this!
Unbelievable...
Paddy> ha yeah, making those out of iso noise effect could also simply feels like bad compressions. I think my low values are too close, on badd calibartion screen it should feel like pure black . Also it could feel VERY noisy on hight gammut screen...
So do you vote for the noise or not ? =)
CELS> Thanks for those kind words ! I'll follow your advices and add some more rim lights on the climax ( thumb, back hand and lighter).
ParkerBabyDiaperCompany> Ho mate, you're right, it's not a finger, it's only the back part of the hand. When your the head on something sometimes you don't see anything anymore.
Thanks for pointing that, I'll correct it !
Wow! This has to be greatest animation I have seen in a long time. Awesome stuff.
This is the first time in a long while that my jaw literally dropped when I saw a piece here on PJ. I guess my only criticism is that I wish the lighter and thumb were a bit brighter at the climax, and the index finger also looks a bit too much like a flattened sphere, and doesn't read like a finger. Never the less, this is extremely impressive. Faved.
Well done! Really smooth animation and the sparks look really good.
I didn't know what I was looking at until I read the description. I assume it is a thumb and forefinger. That both fingers have that stationary 'lightsource' dithering pattern is odd; it should change dramatically when the actual lighter lightsource ignits. But even in movement it just looks like a ball moving up and down with dithered painting on it.
Nice animation, though.
I was about to say that the image appears to get noisy in some frames and that you should fix it because it mightve compressed weird but nope, that was all manual. Your animations never cease to amaze me
this is something different, amazing stuff! 8o
i would love to see the clean version - just out of curiosity, but links don't work anymore (damn you, ephemerality of the internet!)
