By never allowing the fingers to extend upwards, you lose the potential to really create a snap contrast - the hand open and the hand closed share too similar a silhouette. Otherwise, the animation is really nice.
Thanks everyone!
@Simonderfischer
The animation is 22 frames, played at 15 frames per second!
How many frames is this? A bazillion?
Incredible smooth animation, well done!
I cannot even.
What a mind-blowingly smooth animation!
Thank you all for your kind comments!
I agree, the ripple effect is a bit weak. Sand rushing into the middle would of been a good idea, thanks eishiya!
Ripples at the end are, as said before, somewhat disappointing to watch. I also think the thumb looks strange - it straightens a little too much right before the fist clenches, making it look like the thumb has broken. Amazing readability with the five (i think - analyzing it says that this only has one color!) colors used, and a very strong animation overall.
Love the animation! Would love to see a whole movie in this style.
I agree with pretty much all the comments before mine. Great animationd and timing, the material reads very well, but the ripples at the end are a bit disappointing. Have you thought about making it a bit like a drop animation, where the sand rushes in to fill the void in the middle, causing a small temporary swelling? Like the last frames here, for example.
This makes me almost regret not having visible magic in a project of mine xP
I feel so much power in that grip. The animation is awesome!
Wow sweet! Great hand, sand effect, and timing! Well done!
Nice! The only thing I would improve is the "ripple" effect toward the end, may need some smoothing frames before disappearing. :D
Nice this could be the new animation for the weekly challenge.
i want a beta key :/
