This looks gorgeous on parallax (even more so than here).
Yup, all noted. Airship was done as a separate illustration first and then quickly inserted into the splash scene. Plus, since it's a parallax scene you look at it from above/below, depending where you are on the webpage. It's true I didn't take too much time for making it perfect for this particular angle.
The birds, I gave myself a hard time too. I put them in so that it looked nice from the terms of composition, but the scale was wrong. I put the above enough so they could kind of be that big, but then there should be only minor atmospheric perspective. I live when everything is technically perfect (realistic), but in the end I let it go for sake of composition.
So I agree with everything. :) But yeah, the parallax nature is where the perspective problems are coming from.
Nice, but there are perspective / angle / distance inconsistencies.
Judging by their attenuated contrast, these birds are the size of jumbo jets!
Airships size is impossible to guess because they are drawn as if sligfhtly from above when actually seen slightly from below, and at the same angle when obviously one is twice further, etc.
I really like that crest as well as the background. Looks quite awesome.
Yay, I'm glad! This composite is actually more like an aftertought, so yeah, it's all designed to be viewed in the scene.
