It's a fitting and good touch that the character dialog interface is simple. It's giving me some ideas of what I might want to do.
Shadows may be inconsistent, but still pleasant to the eyes.
I really like the look of this, very cartoonish without too much texture, shading or detail - suits the game (like) theme well.
Not necessarily more leafy/detailed, just a little less blobby. I think if you break up the edges between the midtone and highlight colours just a little bit more with suggestions of leaf shapes, that would be enough to make it fit with the way you've rendered the tree trunks and grass.
It looks fine as-is (save perhaps for the lone midtone pixel in the middle of one of the highlights, reads like noise rather than a darker area), I mostly brought it up because I felt bad commenting only about the tangent xP
Do you think, that more detailed/leafy treetops will complement the style better?
I love the building and character designs, and the colours of everything. However, the moose's antlers make a distracting tangent with the dialogue box, and the foliage on the trees feels a little rough and blobby compared to how tightly pixelled and textured everything else is.
I want to play this game!!
