I see what you mean and I agree.
I was working under a very restricted pallette, so when I wanted to use e.g. the darkest purple for the rabbit, I was left with none to AA those areas. 

There are tricks for these things, but the whole picture uses very "clean" colors, so I didn't want to use grey or blue or something like that.

I snuck one in as well. This challenge actually inspired me to do an original painting from scratch just for this.
And in turn the painting inspired me to a game. I just hope I can convince my programmer/slave to actually do it.

 This piece is great! I especially like little "HUD" in the corner. One small concern though... The sunshine from the bottom window doesn't seem to match the size and shape of the top window, although the frame indicates they are the same kind of window. It's kinda assumed the bottom window also has curtains.

Regarding colours... Just imagine what platform you would be making the game to. NES or C64? 16 colours. Snes or Amiga? Like 256 colours? See where I'm going with this? ;-)

 A strange and beautiful picture. The background lacks the complexity of the roots. Those areas with pure blue is just too simple and draws attention to themselves.

Your piece is very well pixeled with a great pallette. I do however have a few comments:

Personally I'm not too keen on the stylized "ground" and background. I find it to be distracting from your othervice beautiful trees and bushes. Looks like he's on a stage with props.

His pose with the hand is a little weird. Hard to read what he is doing. Looks like he is either stroking the tree in the back, or like he just don't give a f***! 

Finally I think you should rework the letters in the top so they aren't so dithered. They get a rough texture and I think you'd want them to be more smooth and shiny.

 Great game. I really like how I can pick up random stuff! I do however have a couple of complaints/ideas:

Replace the red baloons with something black, like floating sea mines. The baloons simply look too much like pickups. I keep banging into them again and again. It's psycological man!

Same with trees. Replace them with some kind of building. They don't look like something you can crash into.

I was kinda dissapointed by the shop. Is it unfinished? Maybe you should make it available from the start so you can see what you are risking your life for. Especially if it's only skins and nothing that affects gameplay.

And finally. All levels should have 3 seconds without any attacks in the beginning. In one stage i died instantly because I had the mouse in the wrong place from start.

Keep polishing this! It has great potential :-)

Interesting challenge. But what are the restrictions for what we can do with the eggs? Can they be colored/decorated/camouflaged, or must they remain as is, with only one color? Or is it "anything goes" as long as it's obvious that THAT is an egg, using so-called common sense?
