It's really beautifully done. Very nice work, great use and choice of colour.

Fair enough, but i'd probably forget AA atm and just focus on learning to smooth out your lines and get your angles crisp. Because that does way more towards making your art look smooth then AA does. It really just adds that level of polish to the work that really elevates it.

user
heyy13 @ 11/6/2016 03:42 commented on Sweets Demon

The biggest issue for me is that your lines are very rough. Did a quick edit on part of the hair to smooth out the outline and fix some of the AA. Didn't pay much attention to most of the colouring, i could sit editing this for hours. XD

As previously said you really need to watch your banding. Banding doesn't make stuff blend, just chunky. Same with the back lighting on the horns, needs a more dudicious application. Make sure your light source is consistant.

Really exceptional pixeling on this. Amazing.

I love everything about this. The aa is especialy nice as it smooths things out without making them blurry. Really A+ work.

This one is more challenging to limit your pallet on then the last one as it has a much wider array of values and hues. Great job.

I think you should use as many as you need for a given piece. The whole point of doing stuff with restrictions is to build your skills in colour choice and utilisation. But it's not necessary, if that makes sense? It's good to build skills or challenge yourself and can be a way of achieving certain styles. However it is good general practice to eliminate unecessary colours in pixeling.

The roots of pixeling being what they are the whole idea of limiting your pallet is fundamental to the genre in some ways. Or atleast cognant choice of pallet. The whole idea of pixeling (for me atleast) is mindfulness.

You will be supprised at how much tighter your works become when you do start to work more with limited pallets. Your a great pixelartist, i think it's just an area you havn't worked with much and still have left to develop. Whether you choose to actually use those skills once you have them is up to you. But no point not exploring it. :)

This is great pixeling but as you've allready identified the pallet is just massive and you have a lot of nearly indistinguishable colours. I don't know if you've mapped the whole lot of them but i just copied it into promotion and this was what it came up with. I think looking at all the colours organised like this might really help you consolodate.

I think it's great, but there's definatly a stylistic clash between the tall trees and everything else. Still, brilliantly done.

Really great! Only nit pick is the red AA on the blue ghost stands out majorly. Otherwise fabulous!

You did really well on the sub pixeling for the shadows moving to reflect the tail. Which makes it a shame that the flame on the tail is static and your outlines on the tail especially are quite crunchy feeling and not at all smooth. It also increases and decreases in width randomly and the movement animation lacks fluidity.

But like i said, A+ on the lighting.

You did well on the character as i recognised who it was from the preview on the front page. :P I'm not used to seeing him in teal though. Usually he isn't quite so green, more cyan/blue. Then green/cyan. But that's a negligable nit pick. :P

Really interesting style! The shading is a bit odd to me (most noticeably around the belly furr) and the outline is great but would do with some AA. Really cool though.

I can't find it? Can you point it out? It's probably an artifact from gimp trying to give it a transperant background. It's my first time trying to use gimp to do anything and it has a weird system for creating alpha.
