Excellent work on the eyes! You've got so much character into them in such a small space, but then the whole piece is full of personality.

(Edited because I originally commented on the palette but I didn't spot that you'd credited it to AndréM—you've still made lovely use of it though)

Amazing! Those transitions are so smooth. This feels like I've discovered a GIF from some classic music video I've never heard of. The only problem is that i want to see more!

You post so many cool pieces and I never seem to comment on them! I'll try to rectify that starting now. I love the character design and the whole mood. The palette has a beautiful moonlit feel which is really magical.

Lovely design and excellent colouring!

I'm in!

Likes:

  • Pictures of people or with people prominently featured.
  • Atmosphere, emotion and personality. I'd love to see your personality and style in this as much as anything I've asked for.
  • Original artwork as opposed to fanart (I know I have more fanart than original work in my gallery but you're probably more imaginative than I am).
  • Pre-Raphaelite artists and others associated with them. I particularly like John William Waterhouse.
  • Fashion.
  • Retro aesthetics. I have a fondness for a lot of design from the 60s to the 80s.
  • Horror films. I like these more for their surrealism, social commentary and atmosphere than for the scares themselves or the monsters. Favourites include Suspiria (1977 and not the remake), Alien, George Romero's Living Dead films, CandymanThe ThingHouse (the 1977 Japanese film) and The Shining. The more colourful and dreamlike, the better the film!
  • Near-future and Soviet/post-Soviet sci-fi. Think chunky designs and a relatively down-to-earth feel. Examples include Stalker (the Tarkovsky film but I did also like the first game), the Strugatsky brothers, Stanislaw Lem, Blade Runner, the first Deus ExCyberpunk 2077Technobabylon etc.
  • C64 art (I put this in every year because I like it, but really don't feel you have to go there. I know it's a big ask).

Dislikes:

  • Spiders. Seriously, no spiders.
  • Fantasy.
  • Anime art for the most part, but I will add that I love some examples so it's not a hard and fast rule either.
  • Anthropomorphic animals.
  • Superheroes.

Wow, another beautiful entry!

Well, i encountered Column 7, Row 5. I guess he's a stabby knight? I think I'll be alright because I got an assault rifle (weapon 4)!

Very cool piece. I love all the fun designs. Some favourites are column 4, row 2, the mushroom at c5 r3 and the devil dog at 1,1!

Beautiful colouring and lighting and I love the atmosphere of the piece. The one very bright orange pixel on the left eye (our right) does stand out a bit though.

What a fascinating entry! Really interesting to see your thinking and I can see that I was looking at it without fully understanding some of the cultural context. I love that there's a message through all the pieces. It's really impressive that you achieved that given that we didn't know what was coming each week. It was all I could manage to just draw something that looked creepy! You've tapped into a much deeper trauma and horror and it's so much deeper emotionally.

Thanks! I find it fascinating just how different everyone's entries are just in terms of which parts of the palette they used more prominently. I reckon nearly every colour in the palette was used as the dominant one by someone during Pixelween.

Wonderful entry, both conceptually and in terms of execution.

Insane rendering on this one! You've suggested the volume and texture of the eyeball perfectly. Really impressive, as is the whole combined piece.

This is beautifully cinematic and very melancholy. I like how the prompt 'the end' in this piece seems to mean both the destruction of the forests at our hands, and mankind destroying itself because of what we're doing to our environment. That's what I got from it, anyway!

SeDiceBisonte @ 10/26/2025 14:56 commented on Victim

Those trees are insanely beautiful. I know there were trees in your other entries, but these ones are something else. I hadn't really thought about it for whatever reason before, but this also has a slight PETSCII feel to it. Maybe it's just that this compositon in particular highlights the grid-like style. Nice work on the lighting too, which I think is particuarly strong in this piece.

SeDiceBisonte @ 10/26/2025 14:53 commented on The End of Everything

I agree that this has a wonderfully apocalyptic feel. Obviously what's being depicted is apocalyptic, but the distortion, the lighting and the poor zombie being sucked into the void really sell the atmosphere.

Considering this bit was unplanned, you've done a great job of it and it fits in amazingly. I love the weather vane and the flying cow. As with the normal 360° one, the 3D version of this is superb but with added beautiful disorientation.

SeDiceBisonte @ 10/26/2025 14:43 commented on The End

Damn, you've outdone yourself with this one! Phenomenal piece. The skeleton is amazing and the whole thing is so vibrant and well rendered.

Forgot to comment on this at the time but what a cool animation! I agree with Lowres_Addict that it's full of atmosphere. I love how weighty everything feels too. That subtle screen shake when the lightning flashes does so much to make this feel like it's taking place in an expansive, connected environment.

Haha, I think the more you look at mine, the less there is to see but I appreciate the kind words! There's a wonderful painterly quality to yours, and I love the way you've used the light to link each entry, as well as trees to both frame and join each one. It's a lot of fun seeing how everyone has come up with different solutions to each prompt!

Was not expecting that from the preview! I love the concept, all the details and how much character you've crammed into this. The shoe flying off is a great touch. Really fun piece, and I'd love to see more like this.

I said it in Discord already but I love how that building looks. Nice work on all the character poses, especially at such a small resolution. It all feels so much like it's in motion.
