This is really cool—I love the foreshortening and all the details. The ducks are such a cute addition. Your blossom trees look waaaay better than my attempt too. The way you've dotted the blossom gives it such a light and airy look.

I find these PC-98 pieces really impressive. The resolution is so intimidating, especially when you've only got 16 colours to fill the canvas with. You're literally the only reason I'm aware of the PC-98, by the way!

Bit late to commenting on this, but that animation is so good! I'm really impressed that you used every colour in the palette too.

Kreator.res: Thanks so much! I tried a bit more rendering but ended up pulling it back to this as I think it started to lose impact. It began to look too physical and less spectral.

I'm glad you find it lively. I think I've done a lot of very static pixel art and am trying to inject a bit more life into my pieces this year.

This is absolutely lovely but I think you've accidentally used the same animation for the main file as in the preview (minus the text) as it only displays the eating animation. Can't wait to see the dance!

Very cool animation! I love how characterfully animated it is, and all the effects look so vibrant (I saw both versions and the pixel one is still really good).

Excellent concept and very nice execution. This looks delicious (I think I could just about stomach a fly as long as it was butter), especially with the syrup on it. I'm glad you gave us both versions because it really is some top-tier rendering, well worth the effort you put into it.

So good to see another submission from you after so long! I hope there are more to come because your work is amazing. I will forever be impressed by how expressive and organic your C64 pieces are. You draw as if there are no restrictions at all.

There are so many lovely details throughout (the apple particularly shows off your gift for rendering translucent and shiny materials in C64 modes) but I also really love the bark on the tree. Such beautiful, clean lines but so good at convenying both the texture of the wood and the atmosphere of the piece.

I'm sure I speak for a lot of people here when I say I've been missing your work on Pixel Joint! So cool to see a new piece from you and it's a beauty. The rendering on the hands is crazy good, and that animation is such a great cherry on top of a wonderful artwork.

hintoflime: Agreed. I have to admit that, despite living very close to the Welsh border and having some knowledge of the Wild Hunt, Cwm Annwn were completely new to me. They really captured my imagination, though.

Love it! There's so much character in this and it's so adorable. My girlfriend and I also love the dance the most (the floppy legs!), but all the animations are lovely.

Tipleloop: Haha, three hours is still pretty impressive for me. You've actually described my method pretty well there, although now I've switched to mainly using a pen tablet I sketch ideas on the PC first.

I slow down more in the rendering phase. The closer something is to completion, the longer it will take me. By the end I'll be second-guessing every little decision. I'll make a layer with just a couple of pixels that are different and turn it on and off to see what I think. At the start of a piece, I'm a lot bolder. I probably should do some more monochrome or Game Boy pieces to focus specifically on values without overthinking anything else, though.

That really is a weird story. Your rendition of it is great, though. Really sinister and unusual. Very nice use of the palette on the skeleton. Those bones look gnarly!
