@umbohr its a good palette to work with. Plus its a good opportunity to do something that's basically a figure study just with added grunge.

This whole thing works wonderfully as a complete panoramic image. The way you handle the narrative is great.  It's so impressive that you can read off a satisfying linear horror story very clearly.

I think this is going to be one of those pieces I'll be coming back to over and again for inspiration for rendering effects. Amazing dynamic image.

Wow! And you did almost the entire thing all at once at the end! Excellent use of colour as always. Zooming in and seeing all those greens within the orange/red sky and sea is pretty amazing to me. 

I was really liking the tiny city thing you had going on and you snuck in an entire other city on the final week! It's great.

@hby realistically breaking the perspective was the only way of continuing the image without it looking unintentionally weird. It worked out quite well narrative-wise.

@SeDiceBisonte yeah those poor zombies! The city really ended ages ago but now the zombies' apocalpyse is getting one-upped by the big energy octopus monster. 

@wolfGD thanks. It's as final as I can make it. Including being the final thing I do for this year's pixelween, since I can't come up with a good way to connect a bonus week image to the start of the panorama.

Really great. You've got in so much variety throughout the four weeks while still mainaining a cohesive overall vision. It feels like almost every variation of what the palette is capable of.

Really lovely. I think this is one of your best so far. Really dynamic image with excellent use of different types of dither.

@gawrone thanks. I had a plan at the start, which has worked out well so far, but the increasing panel size means after week three the story's going to go a bit off the rails.

This is amazing pixel art. Somehow it seems both packed with detail and reads with absolutely clarity. Can't wait to see how it all comes together in the later weeks.

I quite like a classic 80s scrungy zombie nowadays. For a while back there, we were dealing with complete zombie santuration within media. Those things were everywhere! Its calmed down now so I feel like I can draw the occasional zombie without it contributing to an unstoppable undead tide.

@gawrone That's a really great way to look at it! I'm not sure where on the zombie apocalpyse timeline we are.  It's an unsatifying universe where the unspeakable cosmic horror arrives too late to really have the impact on people's sanity it truly deserves.

@gawrone Thanks. I was a little worried if anyone would like it, since it's clearly over dithered to heck. I just needed that extra in-between value for the dark bits...

I love this. This is such a clever idea for the challenge. I hadn't even thought about how it related to the process of making traditional art. The whole thing is the sight-size observational drawing technique packaged up as an 'illusion'!

@Trigonomicon Its pretty impactful. To be honest the colour change helps sell it a lot as well, I think. If they're all exactly the same it is easier to see through it.

@Cyanmou thanks so much for the critique! With the strong blue skin tone I'd kind of intended the host to be ambiguously human, but that's no excuse for drawing mistakes! Much of these weren't intended. On the other hand, I do have excuses for some of this. The main character, as a sort of avante garde grande dame, was loosely based on Virginia Woolf, who is a woman with a surprisingly long face and prominent jaw. Her arms are intended to be older woman arms with the soft flesh hanging loosely away from the atrophied muscle at the joints, but I agree, it's lost too much structure along the way. How I render the dress definitely needs rethinking and I'm going to upload a new version with at least a little more clarity what's going on there and with the jacket worn about the shoulders. Some of the other problems require more of a major overhaul ,so I guess I'll have to consider how I deal with that.
