Thank you, although perhaps they are slightly less impressive if I reveal that your impression is pretty much exactly what I did

Ooh I've never heard of Nagel. Thanks for that, I love finding new artists. Here's one for you (maybe): Malika Favre is a direct inspiration to me for this piece and my general approach to negative space, though I have (yet?) to do a proper master study of her work.

and thank you for doing the two you made! If you hadn't of posted those I wouldn't have done these

There's a lot to love here. My favourite is the rendering of the sword

Actually I recorded this one and voyage in their entirety just for you

This is a lot of fun. I think my favorite monster is the sludge thing in the NE quadrant

Improving our skills is the main benefit of the weekly  I think you did a lovely job, and I especially love those blocky little sheep friends!

Wow! The flow of this is crazy good and I really like the border design of the canvas. A bit Van Gogh ish

I love the colorwork on this, especially the pool and the distant mushrooms

Superb job on this. The design and world building of the trees is great, and the cocoon cavern really sells the otherworldlyness. Neat to read about the HGW influence, too

The combo of the kind of gritty palette with the comical scenario and composition is so compelling! Great stuff

Looking back at many of these portraits I can see things that I would continue to alter if I were to work on them for longer...this one certainly has fewer obvious mistakes to my eyes
