Does it have to be something pretending to be something else or can it just be hiding it's face because I was making a piece and saw that it might be good for this challenge.

Aah, only saw this now   The character does not have to be human.

16 colours or less :)

I assume it has to be EXACTLY 16 colours right?

There's a reason for calling them challenges, you know.

I have a really good idea for this, but I doubt I'll be able to do it. I haven't been able to create a real pixel in months, and I haven't drawn anything on paper in about about 4 months. Stupid pixel art blocks. > < Anyways, this is a good theme and hope there are some good quality entries. Good luck to everyone who enters. :)

Do the characters have to be human?

I like this challenge. It's really open to interpretation. You could do the Phantom of the Opera, or lots of other stuff.

I see what you mean, but I chose a square in order to make it more challenging.  If I knew that this would appear directly after another challenge with a square canvas I would likely have made it not square in order to shake things up a bit

In fact, if it's allowed to change (since it's so early), I wouldn't mind adding 3:2 or 2:3 ratios in addition to square canvases   Mods?

I sence boring movie rip offs. Lots of guy fawkes and jason.

You could always make a square and border it out to be widescreen.

What's with the square aspect canvases? Square = inherently boring as it does not have any tension in the format itself. Can be made to work of course, but for something like this I think portrait format would be better.
