Create an animation of an effect. For example, an explosion or an acid splash.
Canvas Size - Max 100 x 100.
Colours - Max 10.
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - Required.
It says transparency is optional and does not say "only an effect." It is assumed then that actors and scenery are permitted.
bear in mind though that these things can distract from a piece and, more often than not, the mob does tend to vote in the spirit of the challenge. In this case, it's about animating an effect. Let's say you make a stunningly beautiful vanitas still-life... but the only animation is a 4px shimmer on the edge of a plate. Expect some negative feedback no matter how well executed the image is.
Just a question, someone firing a machine gun would be accepeted, right? (something like this http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/54580.htm)
@Muxaun, transparency always counts as a color because it is a (masked) color.
Just when I had decided to start doing these again
An acid splash, by itself, doesn't seem too interesting to me...
Does it have to be only the effect, or can we also depict the source and/or target of the effect? e.g. "car going over a cliff, exploding on impact" or "character getting splashed with acid, leaving only the skeleton"??
Generally it is 9 colors and then one transparent.
In the last 3 months I think I've done a little over 60 of these :3
you can show the source, i.e an exploding car.
