The News Icon Competition has finished.
13 Participants submitted a total of 40 icons!
We've already been able to use many of them for news posts like this one, and the others will definitely be used in the future.
Judging was done by your PJ moderators and a few PJ members: Adarias, doctorcello, eishiya, Mr_Hk_ and Theoden

The 1st award goes to Arkan85! He collected points spread over many of his 15(!) entries, his highest scoring entry in the voting was this wonderful PJ news icon
Second place is awarded to ||||. His highest scoring entry was the flashing NEWS icon
Third place goes to shm31. Actually his microphone icon received the most points overall from the judges, sadly for him the awards go to the participants with the most points across all of their icons...
A bonus award goes to Bla2e, who was well on his way to win the "most icon submissions" award until Arkan85 suddenly took the lead, but Bla2e's icons remain to be the most diverse in styles. His best scoring icon was Pixel News.
Also a bonus award goes to the winner of this compo Arkan85, for entering the most icons, 15 wonderful contributions makes this extra trophy well deserved!

The competition is now over, but if you ever feel like it you are still welcome to create more icons for us to use in news posts. The more relevant tags they have, the easier we can find them, and feel free to keep on using the tag "newsicon".
This was a great challenge; pretty cleverly put together to optimize production.
There were so many good icons produced. I feel very fortunate to have gotten 2nd place.
Amazing work contributed by everyone. This was a fun competition to watch.
