All weekly challenges until October 25 are part of Pixelween, a contest with prizes. Many prizes have been added since it was first announced! Read the announcement for more information. This is week 2, but even if you missed out on week 1 you can still participate and win!
You will be drawing another scene of your movie, in which the plot develops. You are recommended (but not obliged) to somehow follow up the scene of the first week, as your Pixelween entries will be judged together as a whole.
Use one of the following prompts:
You are free to interpret these themes in any way you like. Stereotypical horror/halloween tropes and characters are allowed but not required. Please clarify in the description of your entry which prompt you've used.
This week you will be using the Japanese Woodblock palette (from polyducks):
Technical requirements:
Canvas Size - exactly 130 (horizontal) x 80 (vertical) pixels.
Colors - From the given palette only (max 12).
Transparency - No.
Animation - No.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
More severe? Looks like pixelbatfeula had the right idea. Start in 1-bit so there will only ever be more colours
Since we're not just a storytelling forum, but also a pixelart forum, I hoped that most of you would also enjoy the challenge of technical restrictions! The color limitations will become more severe every week.
But if you feel it is more interesting to you to continue with your story with your own palette, I encourage you to do so (outside of the challenge)
I don't quite understand the point of changing the palette. The challenge is to make a complete story. Someone wants to perform in one style
Oh cool, I was looking for an opportunity to use that palette!
Hahaha I didn't even look to check who it was when I picked it. Nice one
Haha I'm guessing the last one might require 4 colors max.
