   CHALLENGE: Up and Away
Jiwestone's challenge involves pixelling a scene that depicts flight in some manner.

Rules:

    Colors - 16 max
    Canvas - 160x100 horizontal or vertical
    Animation - Allowed
    Transparency - No
CHALLENGE RULES
Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
Only new pixels allowed.
Open to all members.
Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.
CHALLENGE JUDGING
Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES
Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
No matter what happens you get challenged :)

	Ask Metaru...I`m certainly NOT paying for a PS3:) Oh, give the tossed dwarf a pair of strap on wings, and it would be ok I suppose. 	I'd try throwing in something like your 'mt.everest' pixelling style to kick it up a notch. Idea is cool but this can easily be seen as copy/paste noise. A unique style can compensate for that. 	Lovely cloud shapes. Maybe rethink the heart? Too many boy voters could hurt its chances. Of course MashPotato and Metaru being girly types are in your pocket/

	I'll most likely participate in this challenge. My idea is a bit larger than the allowed size, so I guess I'll have to rethink (or resize) it. I'll post a WIP soon. All I have right now is a sketch in my notebook.

	Well there is what I have so far. Its a comet (I think) so that is kinda like flying Also which version is better, the top one with just bluish colors or the bottom with purple parts to it. Btw first pixel thing I've posted on pixel joint

	?Chris? when placing an image try to not make the link go through imageshack first. I don't know how that's done, btw. Your pixelart there is still not pixelart. You have whats called oekaki. Zoom on wish04's pixel and notice how all the pixels are placed with precision and care. You have so much chaos pixelling going on if you didn't say comet I could just as well think squid in the deep sea. Before you say it, yes, yes, comets are the squids of celestial bodies but that's not my point. Go to google and get a comet photo and analyze it then translate it into pixels. Think 'clay' make a shape then carefully and precise 'shape and mold' it. You can do it : ) E: typos Edited by jalonso - 03 October 2007 at 6:07pm

	Wip: Yes,yes,yes! I KNOW that it is too large. I wasn't paying close attention to the rules, I got too excited about the brain surge I got. I plan on doing something about the size next. 	Hmmm... I do notice similarities, Jal. Maybe I should make my kite a different color. I'm hesitant, as this was based very loosley on an old painting I did on a clipboard once of a kite stuck in a tree. I dunno. As for you, greenraven, do moon B. Don't dither black and white. Look at some of my black-and-white pieces if you need some guidance.

Sure I've got 16 colors to work with. But if I can make something decent with only 2, then I be able to do something even better with 16 later on. Sounds like someone hasn't done any old skool artwork. You try a 2 color palette. It's not as easy as you think might it is. There's no AA safety net for starters.

	Ha Ha M.E.taru, You can demand, but I still don't have access to all those wonderfull options. The only thing I am allowed to do is to post and reply on the forum. All that advanced stuff on pixeljoint is not allowed to M.E. Besides, I´m a bit too busy on work and private life at the moment to do pixels. My hero still doesn´t walk right .. ehh back .. so that will get precedence over any challenge. However I have an ´object´ that flies so maybe in a year or two there could be a late entry by M.E. on this subject Interesting to see what you are going to do with the perspective clouds!!! @MashPotato: Nice flying cow! @Greenraven: I vote for B. More white in the burner as well as some more smoke in that area. @ooshmaster: Nice atmosphere. Bit noisy. And a bit empty. The kite is kind of small on the canvas. Keep up the good work you all! 	Because M.E. was right afterall (it needed some perspective) I kinda started all over. WIP: 1. Started all over, new shape but same idea 2. Started shading 3. Put more contrast in the pic no ofense, but yours and mine are way too similar, But that's just a coincidense, I can't asume (and wouldn't) anything, for obvius reasons. I would use a reference for that ship, like I did, so I wouldn't appear to be a rought carved fliying stump, wich means work more on the actual shape and detail of the ship's hull and insides. That fan looks like a round class window rather than something spining at high speed. and i would work more on that background, the actual gradient is kinda boring.
