Being new to pixel art, Isorfilas doesn't really know what he is doing.  You should totally give him some honest and frank critiques of his work if he is ever to have any chance of getting better.  Don't worry, he's a music student, so he's totally use to hearing the brutal truth.  It won't hurt his feelings.
