I love this, great character.  The hand gesture is a nice touch.

Oops, thanks a lot for the critique Arachne.  I completely forgot to respond to your comment!  I will possibly do an edit to this because I agree with your changes.  I just need to get around to it, heh.

You've managed to give those tiny pixel people a lot of personality and character, it really puts the spectacular architecture over the fence for me.

This is nice, very strong aesthetic cohesion.

d-p: I like the green most of all.

Great work, very funny animation.  But why stop with just the belly!  The whole body can move and I think it would look better.  Quick edit:

I know that in actual belly dancing the dancers mostly just use the belly (of course) but I think for the sake of a livelier animation we can exaggerate.

Really great work Skurwy.  This is a very imaginative use of the palette.

"any reason why on the temple, the highlights were made on the same tile, and not on the tile above? making it impossible for a very possible extra shade?"
I...hadn't thought about it that way, well spotted.  I'll have to keep it in mind for the next piece!  The way I did it just made intuitive sense to me.

about highlights: I'd actually tried an approach similar to rymaru's but with less satisfactory results.  I decided to keep straight silhouettes though because the whole concept for this piece was to have different 'types' of pixelling on different layers, like all that diagonal tile-junk in the forest, smoother surfaces on the temple, and dithering in the clouds.  I ended up getting lazy by the time I got to the clouds so there's not as much dithering as I intended, and some of that diagonal hatching crept into the temple, but that's the general theory at least.  I think the highlights would work, but it's not for me.  Maybe in the alternate universe.

"this is actually a rare sight for those who know how to handle technology well and brings about a sense of the beginnings of technology"

Well spotted, sensation.

Helm, I made this because I liked your Tesla.  It was a delayed reaction though.

What's wrong with the preview-thumb?  See it's working fine for me now so I can't really check.

Do some investigating on your own.  Esoteric knowledge is more fun if you discover it alone.
