@alk: The shape just grew from the original sketch i guess, i'm pretty sure this isn't what it'll look like the next time i sprite it, so i shouldn't worry too much. :)
@mod: I've thought alot about the lack of barrel, and how it seems naked without.. but hopefully i'll be able to rustle something up that'll please everyone. Also, about the shinyness, i totally agree, halfway in the WIP i just went mad with it, and didn't bother changing it. The whole turtle thing is true aswel, i originally only had rustbug as a quick 'production' name, and planned on changing it, but it just stuck i guess.
@mikeful: Yeah, the relation to the Tachikoma is kinda annoying, but owels.
@khorin: Size is debateable atm, anywhere from a dog to a house. Most probably inbetween.
So yeah, just to sum up, the only real 'V3' part of it is the colours and the orb. The shape and stuff was just stylistic choice for this piece.

I don't like the lack of barrel. It looks almost as if the bug ot decapitated without a gun barrel. The orb might be more appealing with fewer reflections so it's more recognizable as something shiny; right now it looks too dirty and busy to generate a laser.
I love the legs here and how you embraced saturation in your palette, but looking at its design again it seems to be more of a rustturtle than rustbug now. Maybe it'll look better and more insectoid animated in the actual sprite, I don't know.

Barrel's still gunna be there, but it won't be the default thing, the black orb shizz replaces it. I have lots of ideas..
legs are supercool but as most people mentioned the normal rustbug looks awsome as it is. This one could be really cool for like if it was a game to be as a graphic on the website or on nthe start screen. Good stuff tho.
