What filtering did you use?, I'm not very experienced so I can only deal with the usual filters. You have to start sometime :). I've been caught up in a project which i think will take of(we'll see).

	Blackroot @ 1/5/2008 07:08 commented on Turret Very nice , i went through my programming map to find the game i made this for and changed the cannon sprite, not suprisingly it looked good, the only thing that didn't was the dark red shadow on the orange cylinders at the back. This might sound horrible in the ears of pixel artists but i designed the game for a 640x480 resolution and then i used a larger resolution(1280x960 for example), this way everything would look as if 640x480 except things looks more clearly when rotated(and since this was a shmup i rotate a lot of things), unfortunetly this will eliminate the scanlines and the true feeling of a lowres environment. The techniques you applied on my work (color reduction mainly) created new problems with the rotation as the process was made more visible(which was supposed to be eliminated by using a higher resolution). So... you wouldn't be interested in making a game?

I'm just not sure i got the skills to turn this into something which would pass as pixelart and still look the same :/. I promised i would finish this before midnight and it feels a bit wrong to change it afterwards, but maybe It's just a stupid obsession. I guess i could attack the cyclops armor and the firework but after that i have no idea of what to do. The tail of the mermaid looks very unclean but i think i should look like that :/. I think this is what makes this picture what it is :). I know nothing is personal and i like the strict rules people have here, it makes things what they are. What does member input means? Thanks!

When mentioned, i realize that this would be better described as oekaki. I will not spill one single tear if this does not get accepted. Btw jalanso, are you the only one accepting pixels?

	Blackroot @ 1/1/2008 21:44 commented on Happy New Year 07-08 I just read the requirements for uploading a piece of art, is a gradient fill the same thing as a fill? because i filled the background black before i begun.. i could just shut up about this but let's face it, if i ware to place one pixel at a time with the speed of 2 pixels in one second it would still have taken me about 10 hours. I've seen really really large pieces with massive detail and i can't believe anyone would place one pixel at a time.. you get down to that when you do details or really small pieces. :S i did however use the size of one pixel when i drawed this.. Personally i think if things look like pixel art they are :P...
