Is the cow standing on some kind of green dome? There is no grass, no clouds, trees, or other scenery.

Tips? Ha. I'm loving all the detial you put into this first piece. My first attempt was a box. Even if it was just a prop, you still blow it out of the water. Oh, there's nothing outside the window. It's just weird b/c you're looking downward. That could depend on what floor you're on, of course.

Sweet, that's you? You look like Yusuke... from Yu Yu Hakusho.

You can't prove I have six Yu Yu Hakusho DVDs -- no you can't.

Minor detail, but what's with the white background?

Luminae @ 9/10/2005 10:52 commented on From Me To You.
If you're going for an "contour line" look, then yeah, it's great. Otherwise, the dark lines defining the nose and chin are really bothering me. Shadow really shape a face -- I don't think you have enough darks under the chin, on the other side of the nose, in the eyesockets, on the dark side of her head, etc. to make that face look real. Come on, you did it right there, on the groove above the lip.

P.S. I can't find the eyebrows. Are they under the hat? (panic)
P.P.S. Is you're friend's hair up? you can make it come around over her soulder. I would look awesome, in my opinion. Either side would work as long as it makes an 'S' shape.

Since you've made it SO big, you could have made the outline/contour WAY more acurate and sensitive. Some spots or texture would add intrest on the flat areas. And the background bothers me. Th eye is nice.

And finally, I'm sorry if I'm harsh. I am very blunt.

Hum -- no shadows on the walls? If it's dark outside, then it would be dark inside, since you have no (lighted) lamp stands or sconces. Or, you could just make the whole roome dark and the lamp glow.

P.S. There is no impression on the cushion from the lamp... is there?

I, personally, would eat all the red ones. So no more capitals. You can still spell "cake" and "food", though. Somehow whenever I comment, it usually comes back to food or swords. Flarg -- I'm not fat! (paranoia)

If he is a ninja, he would keep his (kickass, but yeah, kinda droopy) double scythe thing on his back. (nods) Random.
If the scythe is perpendicular to the ground, though, the shadow would just be a line.... By the way. Ahem. Cool high contrast.

Luminae @ 9/10/2005 09:57 commented on Shinai
Have you ever used a shinai? It's several pieces of bamboo tied together at various points. It kindof bulges out in the center of the "blade" part and snaps back together on impact, grabing some skin. It reminds me, at least, of a closed umbrella. Also, unless you're using some model I have never seen, the handle has plenty of room for both hands and then some.

More or less, it's a sword full of gentle curves that you really shouldn't pixel unless you're going quite big -- to keep it acurate anyway.
Sorry if I'm harsh, but I'm very particular about real(istic) swords. If you were doing some crazy weapon like Zabuza's, I couldn't complain.

Thanks, but the stuff going around the cake is just decorative icing. The reflection in the cake stand is sort of simple because I didn't want it to draw away from the actual cake.
If you want to see some real strawberries I've done, there are some on top of the other cake I made. Sorry I can't give you a link. I've tried, but it just ate my post.

[By the way, Badass, I'm not a guy. (cough) But I'm going to be stereotyped if I'm a girl...]

it's lovely, but it's just -- uh, one garden (without flowers, mind) and you'd barely need one gardener. those plants might die if the temp is adjusted for human confort and, sitting at that bench, you'll have a fantastic veiw of the corner of the wall and a bit of the pond. et cetera.

I don't think a fuller would ever be that wide; it would weaken the blade instead of strengthen it.... And where's the pommel? Anyway, it's a nice concept.
