Winners were chosen by your Mod staff by ballot, some palettes were tested, others not. The most votes won.
Thanks to everyone for submitting such great palettes (72), we were honestly very surprised at the overall quality of the palettes and as such it was incredibly difficult to select a winner. Special mention goes out to [thUg] for making a million different (good) palettes and zch for trying to send secret messages to the mods through one of his palettes. Some palettes were for expert usage only, some seemed limitless, some just beautiful. Dr D, Satsume, Mis-BUG, ev149, Gas 13, Adarias, Jinn and a3um were special standouts.
This comp was to pick the palette for the newest PJ forum iso collaboration, which will be posted soon.

For the use of palettes, of course I would be happy to see people using them for something else, I've already use 3 of the 13 I've done, so I'm quite curious to see what can be done with the 10 I'ven't used, please just send me a PM if someone use one, that I can see what it look like ;)

Except me. Don't bother PMing me, I find it silly anyone should ask for my permission all because I closed my eyes and eenie meenie minie moed a few colors. Use them, they're all yours. 
Mis-Bug, I think/assume everyone who contributed a palette gave permission to use them, even for other pixelart.
To be safe, it's best if used, to give credit to the maker. Of course PMing the person to ask is extra safe but probably not needed.
that was really fun... and winning colours are really astonishing... can someone use them for something different from this incoming iso collaboration?
