The Group picture collab was our way to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of PJ Discord Server. It went great so we've decided to make it an annual event to visualise how our Pixel community grows and changes! Read the post about it here, and see the final result here.


The Official 2023 Pixel Joint Group Picture is open, and the topic is Photo Board. We will be making polaroid photos of ourselves and combine them all into one huge compilation. This compilation will be hosted as a photo board for all to see!

The rules:

1) Choose one of six templates of a polaroid photo. You are allowed to flip it horizontally, so there are 11 possible photo alingements

2) The dark square is your photograph area. You can completely change the surface of it (including the backgound colour) but not it's shape - after you choose your template, you have to stick to the square tilt it has. Draw yourself or your character, avatar, any form of representation of yourself, and the surroundings significant to you, whether it is your room, your workplace, your safe space, your favorite place or your imaginary dream world, but try to make it look like a photograph. It doesn't have to be contemporary with polaroid technology. You can be a princess in a medieval castle or posing with your alien friend on a space ship. Time travel and alternate reality travel is allowed.

3) The bright border of the polaroid cannot be changed in shape or colour, but you are allowed to scribble or write on it to enchance your photo with additional information. Try to imitate pen, pencil, highlighter, sharpie, typing machine, printer or any other tangible means.

4) You can use our sample pins and adhesive tape but not edit them - we want the photoboard to be a coherent whole. These are the only things which can partially stick outside of the polaroid template.

5) You have to use the Lost Century palette only.

6) There is a soft deadline on 9th March 2023.
