Continuing my exploaration of the C64 Hires mode by testing more portraits for the previous Mine Wars mockup game (pixeljoint.com/pixelart/136316.htm).

C64 Hires, 320x200 pixels, 40x25 chars, Ptoing palette, only 2 colors per 8x8 char/tile.

Sure, thanx. I think maybe a same gray border would make it less busy than black.

Nice. Do you mind if I throw these up on CSDb? I guess the border colour would look good as either the same mid grey as you have as the outer parts of the pic, or black. Let me know :)
