This is the start screen for an upcoming demo of the game I'm working on, "Curses!" You can see a bunch of the characters from the game in my gallery if you're interested. The demo will be online in about a week! I'm working faster than I'd like to, and cutting some corners, but it feels good to be super busy and productive. I'm really excited about this thing; it's my first actual game! There's a very dark map in the background of this image; it'll appear brighter in the stage select part of the game. I pixelled the whole map by hand, but cheated on the dithering in the gradients there. Just fyi. Also, the text for the buttons and copyright is the first font I've ever designed! I'm really happy with it. This whole thing has been an incredible learning experience.

Hey Manning ! This looks great really, and I agree with Pieface comment about the leg on the mirror. In fact, the whole body and chest are reflecting exactly the same on this mirror. I don't know if it was on purpose, but I think you should arrange that ...

Oh, I think I see what you mean about the points. There's a schedule; you have to be a member for at least [x] number of months to reach level 2, 3, 4, etc, no matter how many points you have. To see the schedule, go to your profile, click where it says "Level 2 Flatfoot (Law and Order)," and scroll down to the big table.

And I have a zillion points because I try to rate as many pieces as possible and comment on other people's work as often as possible. I agree it's kind of a ridiculous number at this time. :) I'll be level 2 in a day or two! Finally!

Oh also good pixel art. Really love it. One thing bugging me The legs in the mirror are the wrong way round, they should be swapped over as the leg furthest from the mirror will be furthest away in the mirror

Good points, everybody! I'm not a big fan of AAing my outlines -- I actually like the super oldschool blocky look, even when it's not necessitated by technology restrictions -- but I can totally see where it would really help here and there. And ptoing made a great comment about the mirrored legs! I was working so fast I honestly didn't notice I screwed that up! Unbelievable! :) I'm trying desperately to get this thing out the door before I leave for vacation in a couple days, but I'd really like to make the time to fix that...

Maybe lighten the BG so the map shows up enough so the jaggies don't show so much? The copy can then have a bit of a dark glow if needed for legibility.

Looks good, but I agree on the AA thing, the slight jaggies in the logo (which i guess are supposed to be dents) don't look too hot either imo.

Also fix up the legs in the mirror you lazy bum :P

I don't think the copyright line looks good in that size. Maybe the smaller size. All else is fine.

It look great as a whole, but there are a few small points that bother me: lack of AA on the title, and lack of AA on the skull. There are a couple other places that could use some AA, but those are the two that I think would benefit most from it.
