It's a common thing with country/location named meals. Americans have something called "polish kielbasa". "Kielbasa" means sausage in polish and there is no such thing here. We have many different types of sausages. But polish people are not less guilty of that sin. We have loads of dishes with such names, the most infamous is something called "fish ala Greece ", which has nothing to do with Greece, and they have no idea what it is because - obviously - Greek people eat fish in million different ways and that name makes 0 sense :) 

That Hawaiin pizza is looking at me funny 

I went to Hawaii last year and asked for a Hawaiin pizza and they didn't know what it was

There are many banana curry pizza recipes out there on the interwebs, including vegetarian and vegan ones.

That sounds fantastic. I will have to try. If I won't find it, I will try to make it myself if I find a recipe :)

I ate wonderful pizzas with:

-honey and nuts,

-apple, shimeji mushrooms and French mustard, 

-baked beetroot, pear and goat cheese,

-Gorgonzola and white grapes,

- smoked sheep cheese with cranberry,

- pumpkin, goat cheese and sage...

Have you ever tried a Swedish banana curry pizza, by the way? I've never tasted it myself, but it looks interesting...might have to try making one at some point.
