Just in time... for the challenge Last 20 minutes were spent feverishly clicking around, so excuse stray pixels and jaggy edges should you find any. The idea is that it resembles an atomic mushroom cloud. Always had these thoughts about civilization resetting itself once again. Also, mushrooms are recyclers of nature's garbage, so I found it fitting :D edit: made a proper thumbnail previe

Probably one of my favorite pieces on here. The colours are incredible, it doesn't even look like pixel art, more like a painting.

This is wonderful, the mushroom cloud meaning is very inspired, it is also brought across quite clearly - I didn't feel an explanation was needed. The art is also astounding. Very nice.

I think the hat of the mushroom would look rounder if you moved the darkest shadow in towards the center as much as the highlight is positioned away from the center, and then have the sky illuminate the part between that and the edge. Apart from that, I think the washed out palette really gives a sense of dimension to this, and I'm amazed at how well the crumpled buildings read despite being so small. Nicely done.
