When I was there last month, I noticed some colorful rows of houses and wondered if they would make good palettes. I sketched them and took notes about the colors, relying on memory to retrieve them later.

Just did that. Since I couldn't help pixelling details and make it nice, as well upload it.

Next time I go there, I'll bring a print along to check accuracy :S

No color conservation, it's cool to be lazy. Not much shading either. The palettes only include the main house colors: walls, shutters, shopfronts and signs, and the whitish borders painted around windows and doors. Other colors are ignored.

Feel free to use the palettes, let me know!

Update: sketch scan here.

Thanks!

Yes, there were people and cars on the street view (upper one is a river view, no one there). Didn't sketch them, that wasn't the point. And I really didn't think I'd pixel it with any level of detail when sketching.

These palettes are crazily unbalanced. It's fun! Some results coming soon ;)

This is beautiful.

Where there any cars, lamposts or people in the vicinity? It would be great to see a full on bustling street in this style.

Thanks people! :D

@ dpixel: wouldn't be as fun, and you'd have an accuracy problem too (unless going there with your calibrated monitor). And well, memory's got to be trained too! ;)

@ JoCh: merci! =.=

Should have took some photos for palette accuracy.  Nice little sketches though.
