Some commission work I did for an Atari ST programmer in the past year. Basically a Bejewelled clone for the old Atari home computer range using a maximum of 16 colors from the common Atari's 512 palette. Came up with a 16 color palette I felt gave a lot of flexibility for different ramps to give the impression there's a bit more than 16. The palette was built around getting the 7 gems to look the right colors of the usual recogisable Bejewelled graphics and then the slightly cute medieval setting sorta spawned from that. The programmer seems pretty happy with it so I'm content. I don't know all the limits of the Atari (was more of an Amiga man) but I enjoyed doing this. The lil dude sorta grew out of the palette two and the 'castle' theme as a lot of puzzle games have some sort of mascot to get attached to I suppose. Well.. he fills up that bottom right corner nice enough anyways.
A video of a work in progress build of the game (coin meter isn't working) is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8nCW7obTqE
Hey, that's TWO pieces submitted and it's only March/April. Wow, if I keep submitting stuff at this rate I may overload PixelJoint!
