Yeah, a lot better now. All the really obvious stuff is pretty much fixed.
Thank you a lot for taking the time to comment! :):):):) and for all the feedback, it's really appreciated <3
Well, in fact, if you start to look at the details separatly you note a lot of weird pixel jumping ^__^U but I hope that, when the mech will move along the screen, these things will not be so visible ...The litte ventilation thingy [ \\\ ] and the little piece below the head, were the most obvious... I think it's better now.
But, sure, it can be improved and polished in a lot of ways.
@_Connor ahhhh Shadow Complex..great game, I'll never know why this went so unnoticed.. Anyway, I would like to see what that inspiration brings to your 3D practices :D
It is not super hard. It just requires solid construction. Quick thing I did, not supposed to be 100% like this mech, just a proof of concept.
Oh come on guys, this work is fantastic, doing 3D movements in a complex design like this one is super hard and he got the animation pretty awesome already.
awesome!
I disagree with ptoing entirely. The only thing that slightly bothers me are the vents (? I guess) on the right arm. When arm moves back, it doesnt transform. Its not that of a big deal, but i thing it could be fixed simply by thinning these vents in the last frame by one pixel. Really looking forward for this game!
The more I look at this the more it annoys me. It is a lovely design, but the animation and angles of certain things are so wonky... The angles the legs are facing make no sense either. The leg on the left is pointing directly at us and it looks like it is at an 45 degree angle or so to the body. Which would mean the other leg would be that too, but then we would have to see it from the side completely and not at an angle.
Seriously, either do proper construction of your stuff in 2D or, for something as blocky as this, make 3D templates to work from. It will look so much more solid and be worth the work.
Sorry for the ranting, I am only doing this because I really like the design.
This is really groovy. The first thing I noticed was that it seems like the angled vents on the arm should distort a bit to make that arm really look like it's rotating. I think those legs could have a bit more action in them. I see some other comments below along this line. Overall–sick.
Like the style and it's a pretty cool animation, although I have to say that some of the rotating looks weird. Specifically the thing on the left with the \\\ stuff and the head/thing under the head look incorrect.
It does not look like you constructed the shapes from a top view, rotated them there and then projected down. This is what you should do for maximum accuracy.
Also it looks a bit overly stiff, legs could use some actualy rotating at the joints.
Yes, we like it!
This one is great. You have achieved unbelieveable realism with changing just a few pixels. Its right leg lacks some movement, though, so the robot seems to walk sideways.
Nevertheless, it is one of the best pixel art animations I`ve ever seen so far.
So badass
Agree with Jamon. Also his right leg seems to make a lesser move than the other because we only see the vertical component. You might emphasize that vertical movement to compensate.
Great! Only thing that missing here is changing light of higlighted areas...
That's some clean animating, nice work. Oh and misleading preview, perfect as well.
This probably takes the cake for most misleading preview I've seen in a while haha. What a pleasant surprise, though.
I've been meaning to practice some 3D by making a mech. This is definitely inspiration for said project. This looks like an awesome enemy to fight. Kind of reminds me of shaadow complex, but a lot cooler.
Nice! I love the tiny details like the way you animated the little rocks.
Haha, nice preview indeed.
Gee, I think I have a fetish for geometric styles.
Incredible. Best preview to art I've seen all year. Fav'd.
How does this look so three-dimensional? What sorcery is this!?
Best thing is this can be viewed in almost all sizes and still looks awesome!
