The bottom-left corner area of the floor (where the light appears from the left) could use some refining, also I can see a stray pixel or two... some antialiasing will do...
Also, I'm not sure if the armor would have such lighting, given the source of the light is from behind of the knight, but maybe it's ok, given it's a metallic material, and there could surely be some backlights...
Overall, though, I love it and giving it 5/6 - the balance of the palette saturation, also the dithering and shape definition are masterful, I dare say...

Wow.. what a Picasso-face in pixel art!
And surely I hope you did this in GraFX2 since you made it an homage... Masterful work with pixel clusters in grayscale!

This is some quality pixel art, given that only 15 color indexed palette is used.
Love the night lighting!

Cute! Cute everything.. not only the cat - also the surroundings, and nice work with the clusters...

Nice atmosphere and palette... reminds me of games like Dizzy - it would fit in nicely!  (no, wait, yours has much more palette definition - it would be like a pixel-art remaster of Dizzy)

Whoaa, creepy! But technically really masterfully done!

Nice! The sparingly used saturation and color balance make it a real masterpiece!

It could definitely use some antialiasing of the outlines and shapes, but funny idea and good palette...  4/6 from me.

Given that it's your 1st pixel art ever, it's not bad... I'm giving it 3/6 for now, but sure you'll get better.
The fuzzy fur is better on the left side than to the right where it's getting messy - but that's all expected for a 1st pixel art piece.
The overall lighting seems good to me, and sure the fur clusters can be cleaned up a lot, but you'll get the hang of it with studying tutorials and quality pixel artworks.
If you're used to draw in analog way - pencil and paper - digital graphic tablet (Wacom, Huion, whatever) can help you here as well, drawing and pixel-pushing, zoomed in...

Nice and wonderful palette and all, but still, for perfection I would personally anti-alias any jagged edges in the distance...

They are cute, and some really good work with the feather textures!

Nice clusters, but also great balance in the palette - balance in the saturation and hue shifting.

Cute is just about everything about your piece. Cute is the girl, cute is the hero, cute are they together, cute is the palette and style (especially the background), and even the enemy mushrooms are cute though I suppose they're not supposed to be...
Goes straight into my favs

Great palette and the chunks in the background, the fighting characters ok, and what I'd refine, would be the texture of the land and antialias the edges, but quite nice to look at, overall...

5 out of 6 from me...

While I'd definitely check some references to make the shapes look better (and antialias the edges),
thumbs up for: lighting, really great palette and dithering helps a lot as well...

Some colors may be a bit oversaturated (the trunk's browns and blues), but really cute and atmospheric overall.

This one is interesting and has a very good and detailed pixel chunks of colors, but it kind of resembles more of a lava world than Mars...

user
mr.Bitmap @ 12/6/2022 12:01 commented on The Red Planet

Nice one by all means! You've got smooth transition between the edges, the chunks of shapes very well done.. and the dithering helps it all on the top.
Pretty quite similar concept I had, with the exception that your palette is definitely all red compared to mine... (Didn't have the time to make it in time, but I'll post mine, nevertheless once I complete it...)
I bet you won this challenge big time...

user
mr.Bitmap @ 12/6/2022 11:48 commented on Mars

A fair minimalist concept - I like the lighting and shadows you put into it, but I'd definitely refine the chunk shapes inside, (then maybe give it a little dithering) and antialias the edges everywhere...
But it's a decent basis, overall...

Whoa, nice! This is very close to Henk Nieborg-ian level of pixel art. Reminds me heavily of Amiga game Lionheart, or The Misadventures of Flink... something like that... 5/5 from me

@Jumpanaatta: Thanks for constructive criticism - this is what I was looking for! I agree with you on everything - and most of all: it's hard to do art without references.
