8.1 Mile Long Firecracker Lit!

In celebration of the Chinese New Year, organizers lit up a 8.1-mile string of explosives in a southern Taiwanese county Sunday, hoping to create the world's longest firecracker in a record-setting attempt expected to last two hours. The Taiwanese were trying to beat Spain's record of 7 miles.

I've never liked firecrackers. I'd rather see something with a lot of color and a satisfying "pop" noise in the sky than listen to loud bangs from a firecracker.
