This week you are to create an animated avatar. The subject matter can be anything you want.
Canvas Size - Exactly 64 x 64.
Colours - Unrestricted.
Transparency - No.
Animation - Required. At least 16 frames; each frame must be unique. The animation should loop seamlessly.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
No. Only stuff created after the challenge announcement.
Unless of course by 'older' you mean something you created in the last 2 days...
not to mention that, unless i missed something and PJ now allows .APNG file formats, you cant use partial alpha channels in .GIF animations.
of course you can do that MFlanga, simulating transparency is not the same that actually having transparency.
But couldn't you place pixels to create the illusion of semi-transparency? Such as to emulate the effects of smoke, glass, or water??
no transparancy does that mean all pix must have full alpha? can some pix be 50% transparency?
I think I'll enter this one, but at the moment, I have no idea at all what to make.
I got a question... do at least 16 frames need to be unique, or if you did a 20 frame animation, would all of those need to be unique too?
It just means that the content of each of frame must exist only once; no two frames can be the same, that's all. You can copy and paste stuff/slide part of a frame around/whatever, but it's obviously preferable that you put more effort into your animation than just moving bits and pieces around.
Could we expand abit more on the "each frame must be unique". does that mean that a frame cant be repeated 16 times or that something such as copy/paste and/or sligthy modify each frame to get an animation (IE: slide a part of the frame)?
Niether do I, I would make each frame separatly and then combine them with some program on the internet. I'm sure there's something that can do that? Doesn't bother me much though.
Well count me out, i don't have an animation program. But i anticipate some awsome entries! : )
@Jeremy: I have to agree :P
