I actually quite like the bloom effect Badassbill mentioned. Nice work.

Really great detail in this animation, one of the best walk cycles I've seen in ages.

You say you pixeled this to get a "sharper look" but there's hardly a sharp edge anywhere because of the omni-antialiasing, hence why some people have mistaken it for a vector piece. It seems kind of pointless to pixel something which ends up having none of the aesthetics of PA. For example a piece like this has flat shading but the lack of aa gives it a distinctive pixelled look which you couldn't achieve any other way. Not having a go at you or anything but workflow is important.

Ordered dither can be very conspicuous. Maybe try playing around with pseudo-random dither or work the dither into the rock's texture.

The DOF effect in the background is nice

I agree with Hatch; Rome wasn't built in a day. Just frequently go a little bit out of your comfort-zone, then you won't get discouraged if a piece doesn't turn out as you hoped.

Your animations are really good. Just curious, how much time does it take you to make one like this?

DoF is supposed to depend on the camera's z axis (pointing away from the camera) but you seem to have applied it on the camera's x and y axis. The part of the clock you have in focus is on the same z level as the top of the clock so both parts should be in equal focus.

I like the lack of aa on some parts; it give it a Yoshi's Island sketch feel.

Looks good, but the perspective doesn't converge to a vanishing point. You have this, when it should be something like this.
