 Such a beautiful style, wonderful palette...

I just realized that the only other comments I've left on pixeljoint this year were on your pieces (completely coincidental), there's something about your style that gets my attention every time :D keep it going!

Btw, great palette too.

 Awesome! :D You learn something new every day. I actually use Tile Studio (only like the most awesome pixel art software in the universe) for creating the pieces, and I assemble them into a gif using some random software I found god knows where. Thanks for the tip though :D

 Want to know a little secret? I have absolutely no idea how to create a transparent gif :D :D :D

 I loved the way his belly was a tiny bit hue shifted, just the way I like it :) other than the way some places are pillow shaded, the piece is perfect. It reminds me a lot of the Heroes of Might and Magic III art style :D

 My favorite piece on PJ. Amazing colours, dithering for the books. Respect.

 The saturation is noticable, but in a good way, it doesn't seem oversaturated, but just vibrant enough to keep the eye entertained. The wood texture is lovely, not to mention the leaves. Excelent piece, no noticable techincal flaws really.

For some reason I find this amazing, probably the fact that you effectively do with 7 colors what I do with 200. I really, really like this piece of pixel art.

 This is AMAZING. Love the heart.  The only objection goes to the background - seems a bit empty, and the contrast between the sky and the quarry backdrop is way too high. Other than that, perfect.

@EtNoir

Well, that was kind of on purpose, still don't know if it's a good thing or not. The idea was that the nearer objects are lighter, more saturated and detailed, and the further ones more pale. Thanks for the feedback :)

Wow, you are definitely an odd artist. Looking at this and your other works, I can tell that you have an amazing sense of color, highlights and most af all, motion. All your acts have a clear and strong motion, even if they are in idle stance. Still, your sense of proportion, angle, well, your drawing generally, needs a lot of improvement. Plus, the shading isn't very good, because, while the contrasts are excellent, when you use such high contrasts, you need anti-aliasing. I'd recommend you to download better pixel art software, it seems to me like you use Paint which might be slowing you down.

user
amantino @ 5/12/2011 14:20 commented on Joao - Windy

 yeah, the anti-aliasing isn't proper. just noticed it.

I actually like the boob animation :) The one thing that stands out here is the left leg. You should never leave a single body part unanimated and static (is that even a word? :D), it looks completely unnatural, especially when the rest of the body moves with such force. It draws attention away from the rest of the animation, which is pretty damn good by the way.
