Referencing is important. If you don't give credit to your sources it's classed as plagiarism, which is highly frowned upon in the art world. Also, I like it, but it is really big...A bit too big imo...

 @Hummingbird: The colour palette. Spriters use it to make sure they aren't near-duplicating colours or making too many.

 You know it's retro when everyone except the main character looks the same and you can jump really high...XD I love it though, reminds me of Alien Hominid or that really old game on the amiga? ZX spectrum? Something about a cat or something...Wow, my memory is awful XD

 I love them! Although the eye on the walking animation could do with moving back and forth a few pixels - following the movement of the head. It's very endearing though ^_^

It's okay...But why is it flickering like that...? I don't get it...

Doesn't look very big...It also doesn't seem to be making any specific movement, just sorta jumping and fitting... Maybe a more definite action would be better: pounce, swipe, bite. Or whatever you had in mind...

That being said, I like the sprite itself. The fur looks nice and bristly and the tail looks wormy. It's purely the animation you need to work on. ^_^
