You're right, though perhaps it just needs a more interesting texture to break up the pattern. Not going to do any further edits though, trying to finally move on from this piece. ;)

I like the ship design, very unique. The lighting effects on the ship are impressive too. The lightning is spectacular, it's loaded with character. Great work here. :D

I love the colours and highlights in this, but for some reason I can't read the legs very well. My brain gets confused as to which is the left/right leg, I think it's to do with the armour around the waist. In any case, nifty stuff. :)

I love your clean, pastel style in these pieces. So here's so much belated kudos for a piece that hasn't received much love. Cheers! *munches on a slice of cake*

Very neat animation here. It looks like the tentacle-alien is manually rotating his craft with the tentacles... like some kind of outer-space-alex-kidd-pedalcopter. I think that's the technical term.

Really like the 3/4 view here, nice crisp textures too, good stuff. :)

Wow, if only a game like Crystal Caves had graphics this good when it came out... coulda shown those Amiga snobs a thing or two with EGA powah! (No offense intended to the awesome Amiga snobs on here. You people rock too. :))

Excellent work here. Solid. :D

Can't believe I missed this. What an awesome concept! :) Great job combining the two objects, well done.

Haha, only just noticed what the spanked monkey was doing. Cheers for the laughs. :D

Snap... these are freakn awesome. Very solid sense of style in each of these, nothing out of place and everything in its place. :D

I've never seen FKMT, so I have no idea who all these crazy people are. But your style and execution of their expressions are so nifty... these guys are packed with character, awesome stuff. :)

This has a great clean and chunky style that makes it eyecatching, and the facial expression is solid. Nicely done.

Ooh, now how did I miss this? It's so smooth and the atmosphere is palpable. Plus the concept is just plain cool. Awesome stuff. :D

As many people have said, it definitely has that Bitmap Brothers look. The multi-hued dithering gives the environment a gritty, realistic feel. Although I think I prefer your old version of the spike-pit-swinging screenshot, had more variety in the colour scheme. Still, top stuff. :)

I'm imagining this guy saying "BOM BOM BOM..." with each foot step. That makes him seem cute and threatening at the same time. :) Nicely crafted character.

finite @ 9/8/2008 06:32 commented on genetic octopus
It's a nitpick, but the style of the hand/arm seems a lot more cartoony than the rest of the piece, so it clashes a bit. But that said the octopus, water and the effects are awesome, so this wins. :)

The design and shading on this in incredible, it's so rich and strong. Makes me want to add it to my favourites twice. It's awesome to see new art from you again. :D

I agree with the comments so far, this is an amazing piece. I especially like the background/foreground separation you have here. The far background has a soft, almost painted look which is easy to distinguish from the crisp sprites. Nicely done. :D

Basically the ship will rotate up/down as you move it in those directions (it's a sidescroller), but I ended up doing a full 360 rotation so I can have a fancy intro/powerup/end level animations.

Awesome take on the idea, I especially like how you contrasted almost every facet of the design: colour, texture, etc. Gives each world a unique feel.

finite @ 7/4/2007 00:05 commented on The Night They Returned...
This is really awesome work. Some parts of this are hard to read though... in the background, centre-top, is that clouds, or rocks? The clouds to the right are easy to comprehend for me, though they look a bit too plasticy and bulbous where they cross the moon.

The second thing is it's hard to tell where the huge monster (the one directly in front of dude) ends and where the rest of them begin. The outline isn't clearly defined by the lighting, and the shapes behind the monster mimic his features quite a bit. Perhaps this is a feature of "The Shadow" (i.e. we're not meant to be able to see a clear distinction), if so it may need to be more explicit.

That said, the detail and colours in this are fantastic, would love to see where you go with this if you decide to work on it further.

Man, didn't mean to type that much. Sorry. :)
