He takes old 2d sprites, then transforms them into
Some are kick ass, some are ok, and there are a few that I don't like one bit... Overall, very cool, imo.

I wonder if one day someone can create a simple plugin able to do the same thing under 3DSMax. It would be fun to convert our pixels in many 3D style. Just imagine itch pixel of piece we made became colored buildings and we just can travel across this city and from sky just saw our piece. I know it can be done manualy but too much time would be lost.

Hi all... always nice to hear feedback... even if it isn't all that positive!! The pictures that you are commenting on were only ever an experiment in
rather than in art. It was incidental that the pictures turned-out original enough to be picked-up by Edge and FHM magazines. The 'little program' you mention Tymon is actually quite complex, allowing for many different styles of output from the same input. Agreed, it would be 'better' if the images were truly 3D, but where would that extra data come from?

Eh, not that amazing imo. Some are pretty decent though.

I don't see how this is different from just stretching a sprite in the Z axis in 3D space.

I thought you meant he took old characters and formed them into three dimensional models, not that he actually made the pixels into voxels and just pieced them together.
