Unfortunately, due to a technical issue caused by our newest moderator, Big Brother, this week's challenge has had to end prematurely. Thankfully, we have a backup challenge though! This challenge will run from now until the challenge countdown timer reaches 0. As this challenge is only lasting a few days we have decided to make it a fairly simple one.
For the remainder of this week you are challenged to draw an existing lunder from one of the three known rodens, using only 6 colours and a small 60 x 80 canvas size.
Canvas Size - Max 60 (width) x 80 (width). This is the entire canvas, so everything must fit within this particular canvas size.
Colours - Max 6.
Transparency - Optional. Only use transparency if you are creating more than one lunder.
Animation - Optional.
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
UPDATE: None of you guys seem to be taking this new challenge seriously! So I guess the best thing to do is just revert back to the original challenge :o
Jeeze Pixeljoint, get your act together! You went from one challenge, to another, then back again... What a waste. I drew a couple dozen entries, and I don't get to submit a single one..
Does this mean I get that special lunder trophy as well...?! :D
We'll give you a special lunder trophy for your efforts, gecimen. sorry we had to call the challenge off.
what? no it's official. I've already drawn 12 lunders!! Am I the only one who beleived and drawn that many entries?
Try #H10889 and #919199, they should work better. Vestindle's are a bit trickey to shade, but if you think you're up to the challenge then go ahead. If I were you I'd just reposition some things so that you didn't have to. Besides, the venstandle looks way better than the vestindle in my opinion. I can't really see why you would want to pixel it in the first place since there is a much better option available.
Darn, I would have participated but my zenorb isn't calibrated.
No water Lunden then? From the unofficial pokemon crossover ?
I'm working on an entry right now but I'm having trouble perfecting the shading on the lunder's lower vestindle. Maybe its just the colors I'm working with. I have #GGGGGG as the darkest shadow tone to contrast the #L2L2L2 I have for the highlights. Should I maybe switch it up?
obviously lunders are just one dimentional noddles
Since there seems to be some confussion on this bluntly obvious challenge I guess I will post this old video I have that explains all abount lunders and their corresponding rodens. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTFiC-jU-cE&feature=related
Wow, I can't wait to make my lunder! Definitely submitting for this challenge.
Since Cure's link isn't working for me, I'm gonna go ahead and ask for clarity: Lunders are those bird/ penguin things?
Since you insist that you don't know what a lunder is, I took a picture of my own lunder (forget which roden, sorry)
Haha calm down dude :] Lunders are what make up the three known rodens which in turn affect the way we all see light. So you see since it deals with the visible light spectrum its a very cool pixeling challenge
What does it mean? white trash? wiggers? hicks? what? this is bothering me. trees? is that why height doesn't matter? If this is a sports reference than I definitely wouldn't know it...
Is this some sort of racist term? Or is it a phrase based off of some specific person's name? man this is incredibly frustrating. I border with Dearborn which is the largest population of people of middle eastern decent outside of the middle east but... i guess it's just not something i think about that much... we were all confused over here why a mosque would make the front of a magazine. idk this mystery is going to drive me insane.
You are from the US, dude. And MICHIGAN! That's like, where the largest population of lunders in the americas is located. You gotta be kidding, right?
I don't know what country most of you guys are from, but where I come from nobody uses this term.
Well due to the way lunders typically appear to humans, there's really no need for a height.
"Canvas Size - Max 60 (width) x 80 (width). "
I like how nobody complained about how there's no height.
also, working on my lunder now
Can I make one lunder from each of the three rodens or must we stick rigidly to the one roden? There's so much scope here that it just seems...limited to stick to just one.
I'm making a lundering dunder made of sundering thunder.
I personally don't like having to draw one of the existing ones... takes a lot of the creativity away, know what I mean? There are only three rodens to pick from, so this will surely lead to many similar lunders
Edited for foul, vile, immoral, antisocial, anarchistic, harmful and abominable language.
Just forget about it I lost interest in knowing what this challenge is about/competing in it
I genuinely have never heard of this term, I'm not trying to troll.
Don't be silly mate. We will have no trolling on this website.
f*** you and your constraints. lunder is a widely broad term and being a faustwas may f*** as h*** be a form of lunder.
( :P )
@Justincrdibl No faustwas, you shouldn't even have to ask. Just lunders people, this isn't that difficult.
Yes! I have so many ideas for this one!
Question: Does the lunder have to actually be a lunder? Or could it be like a Nordic Lunder which is just a faustwa that disguises itself as a lunder?
that's what the challenge is for. To show how you can create a great lunder art and make it be pixel art EVEN THOUGH it's lunder. The said the same for the deelbur art and we got great pieces of deelbur art you can't say in any way "it's NPA".
Only if it's a proto-roden of the xebime family. Or you could call anything lunder really.
Question: may I draw one of the "pseudo-lunders" (an avriloid that is not technically a rodens, but is colloquially known as a lunder)?
Well, since nobody has the required 1D screen to watch those entries with no height... (remember: 60 (width) x 80 (width))
