CHALLENGE: Spoiler* Alert

Gas13 challenges you to make a 'Fantasy self-portrait' avatar. 

  • Canvas size - 64x64
  • Colors - No restriction
  • Transparency - No
  • Animation - No
Tracing not allowed.
WIPs are a must (Place link on description).
Reference photo would be nice ; )

*Seeing what someone looks like irl can be a spoiler : /

CHALLENGE RULES

  • Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
  • Only new pixels allowed.
  • Open to all members.
  • Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

CHALLENGE JUDGING

  • Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
  • Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
  • Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES

  • Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
  • Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
  • 'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
  • No matter what happens you get challenged :)

This is pretty interesting.

Spartan, remember to keep it in a 64x64 canvas. Also, neat idea, being a spartan n' all. I would keep the style of the image though, make your skin very pale.

what would you say if i gave it the same appearance. The gears of war background (or maybe just red and black marbling) with a white spartan.

indeed. it wouldn't be fair for those users who didn't have something ready before the competition, in terms of time. we're all suposed to have one week to finish and submit our entries.

you can choose from Golems, Elfs, Knigths, driades, dwarfs, Automats, gods, spirits, banshees, monsters, abominations, vampires, zombies, orcs, warriors, paladins, wizards, mages, faeries, kings, etc. etc. etc.

not exactly. Gas just want to see how ugly we are , but no, of you post your own picture, that would help(specially on more realistic self portraits)

Here's my WIP of me as a mini demon incubus called "mincubus". I didn't use a photo here (I mean I am pretty easy to pixel this small. I have a beard, shaved head, and big ears). Anyone should be able to tell this isn't a trace any way.



He will eventually be set in a petri dish, with a needle in his chest.

i'll clarify some points before anyone gets in trouble.

first, the challenge is not meant to (or not necesary) make a "pixelation fantasy portrait", its mean to make a representation of you diguised as the fantasy character of you choice. be creative with the pose, you don't need to be directly facing the 'camera'.

WIPS ARE A MUST, means that you MUST put a link to your WIP(Gif animation of your sucesive progress is a good idea). the more detailed the better, but remember, is a MUST. no WIP = fail.

the idea of posting a photo reference is optional, but its main goal is to compare how much you achieve to portrait yourself as a fantasy character. since we or anyone else knows you in person, its the only way to prevent that you just draw a random guy and add him elf ears :P

Posting a photo reference doesn't mean that you don't need to post a WIP. WIPS are a must. Photo references are optional.

I know. I thought it would have been cool though... ^^ anyway... i am making a revision of an old piece for the good-evil challenge (i think), so im not joining this week
