Superb. Love this. The style's right up my alley.

Wow, wasn't expecting this great reaction! I agree about the AA, I wanted the background to be minimalistic compared to the car, but I guess I went overboard. The edit looks great! I originally intended to draw the headlights motion blurred off the right of the screen, but I didn't know how to acheive it without using too many colors and occluding the car.

I really like the colors and think it adds to the style.  I like the interesting shading method too. If anything I'd make the tree into a pastel color too so it matches the others.

Ignore the sperges, it's a good animation, and I like how the smoke's animated. I swear, most of these people would tear apart the graphics in the most popular games of old if they had the chance.

This applies to all of your work, I love how even though you're (ostensibly) a professional in the business present and past, nerds here still question your integrity and pick apart your shit that was actually used in TV adverts and actual commercial videogames. I think that highlights a lot of the redundancy that goes on at this place.

hey, i remember seeing this on sheezy.

everything the other dude said is shit. i'm an anatomy nerd and the head being big just seems to be a product of the style.

Honestly it'd be better as a still. The animation hardly resembles walking. Look up some animation tutorials and figure out how the whole body moves when walking.

It's Strangers in the Night by Saxon...As you may be able to tell from the lyrics, it's about an airport that loses power at night, so the planes aren't able to land and can only keep circling until they run out of fuel. I'm kind of a plane nerd so the song appeals to me. Thanks for the comment :)

No problem, when you said that the rotated steering wheel was my first thought why. I used an archaic method in mspaint to give the illusion of rotation by doing skew +10 and -10 horizontal/vertical, and it slightly "rotates" it, but not perfectly. I'll make the background transparent once I get PS installed, I've just switched to a PC with Windows 7 :p

Thanks for the criticism, and sorry if I came across as catty.

Alright just because of the pure audacity of trying to say that this isn't my own or that I traced this, here's the composition shots:

There's a reference there because realism and accuracy are important to me, and unlike some people I'm not autistic enough to commit the entire form and details of a Formula One steering wheel to memory.

What makes you "doubt" that I drew the cockpit myself? I can show you the composition/process files if you really want. I'll reupload it with a white background then.

Rho @ 12/27/2009 10:29 commented on McLaren MP4-24 Cockpit

I agree, I had a lot of reservations when submitting this and if it's a big deal I'll take it down and re-up whenever I draw a BG for it. This is pretty old and at the time I was so exhausted from drawing the cockpit and details that I was too lazy to draw a background. But, thanks for the compliment on the focal point.

Rho @ 12/27/2009 10:27 commented on Scandinavian 101

Thanks - originally it was a lot brighter and the plane was grey, but I felt it didn't make sense...if the plane was flying at night, realistically it'd be very hard to see in the sky at night. Saxon absolutely own and Strangers in the Night is definitely one of my favorite songs from them, and this is exactly what I saw whenever I listened to it. Great song 8)

Thanks for the comment and CC
