Reminds  me of No-Face from Spirited Away. Very good work.

I like this, it looks like an old Sierra adventure or something :)

I too am in awe of your simple-looking but extremely effective use of color.

I think the "squelch" makes perfect sense. The fire is white hot and expands rapidly, as it cools and dissipates it darkens and shrinks upwards. I'm no explosions expert but this seems more "plausible" pixel art than a "cartoon" explosion which would be all about being flashy and huge. Either way, your colors and animation are great, this pic kicks ass!

This is great! I can almost hear that OPL music squelching away. Fav'ing this and hoping you'll update with the URL so we can play it one day :)

So much life in so few pixels. Excellent use of "in-between" colors too.

Dude these are great! I have a play at Wesnoth from time to time and high-quality art like this really makes the gameplay experience complete. Well done.

This is awesome! I love your lightsourcing and variety of buildings. Although all the people are naked :P

This has potential to be epic. Do you have a project homepage? I am so interested in following your progress!

Excellent sense of motion. The way her toes step, her hips turn, her arms pivot, her weapon swings, her hair tosses, her ponytail bunches then expands and even her little short breaths all come together to provide a very plausible piece. What an amazing piece of art!

That is excellent advice, it looks way better your way. Thank you, I'll keep it in mind!

I like this alot. It reminds me more of Crusader No Remorse/Regret than X-Com.

As the others have said, his posture is a little funny. It looks like he's kinking his neck to the side and looking down. There's probably only a pixel or two in it but it does make a slight difference.

Still, way better than what I can do and gets me very nostalgic for old games :)

Wow, that's impressive! As others have said, the clouds let it down. Rather than have them as just "closed scrawls", I think a more "puffy" appearance would suit, like in the background of NES Mario. This would allow you to keep the flat bottom of the clouds if you prefer.

The sail is ok, it just looks odd because everything else is so detailed. But shading the sail probably wouldn't suit.

I like the Squid :P

Edit: New clouds are way nicer.
