The following pixel artists produced Pixel Joint's top rated pixel art for August 2010. Many thanks go out to this month's top pixel artists and all the members who took time to rate.
Except for the competitions, those are meant to be competitive.
Some have won a Top10 that submitted at the end of the month. Fool once submitted on the very last day and won #1. If it's good it will make it regardless of when it was submitted.
Remember, these monthly awards should not be taken as a competition. They are rewards for good hard work and to motivate and inspire all to do their personal best at all times. It is part of human nature to be competitive and if not a leading factor in your work is a healthy thing. PJ is not meant to be competitive.
We wait until the middle of the next month to declare the winners, in order to let pieces submitted later in the month get a chance to accumulate blue dots. Pieces will level out after a while, so pieces submitted in the beginning of the month won't grow exponentially or anything.
Yup. The monthly top are ranked by number of blue dots. The best submissions still rise to the top, though. Faves have no impact on the monthly top either.
I have a question. Does it matter when the art is submited? Do pixel art submited in the end of the month less chance of reaching high up as art coming in early? I mean, It is newer it hasn't had more time to gather points and favs.
Okay, I understand. Thanks!
