This weeks challenge is inspired by a dialogue from Disco Elysium - you know, that game which has shown that modern cRPG can be as good as in the 90's .
Draw a scene which represents the phrase "Fist Train", however you imagine it. You have a totally free hand in choosing what it will be as long as it can clearly represent the idea, or as long as you provide an explanation, in the artwork description, why and how your artwork represents the theme of this challenge.
You have to use the Patina palette by MidoriMushrooms
The author of this challengge idea is Xmenekai
The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
The following pixel artists produced Pixel Joint's top rated pixel art for March 2023.
Many thanks go out to this month's top pixel artists, and all the members who took time to rate!
Draw a character sprite from an existing game as if it's for another genre of game. Examples: Mario in a shooter, Lara Croft in farming sim or The Penitent One in a dating game. The weirder the two mixed up genres are going to be, the better.
There were a lot of variations about walk or run cycle animation in past challenges, but there are plenty of other ways of animal locomotion we could explore.
This week we will animate snake's movement cycle in top down view. There are 4 major movement methods used by snakes I'm aware of:
1) Serpentine (Lateral Undulation);
2) Concertina
3) Sidewinding
4) Caterpillar (Rectilinear Method).
The forth one is not allowed in this weeks animation challenge, so you free to choose a type of snake movement you wish to animate with this one exception - the Caterpillar (Rectilinear Method).
Do your research, find tutorials, pictures, videos to watch frame by frame, or use your imagination if you are confident or experienced enough to pull that off without any help, and help us break the walk/run routine.
Number of frames is open but it have to be a closed sequence that loops nicely.
Don't forget to comment on the pieces you like!
Not only does a comment have the potential to make the artist's day, if you post a lot you'll win one of the fancy new trophies!
And March's most favourited award goes to:

Since there were no avatar challenge in a while, we are going to draw ourselves some new ones.
Draw a portrait (it doesn't have to be you, it doesn't have to be human either, but it have to be a head of some sort, so animals, robots, monsters, anthropomorphic objects do count), on a standard PJ avatar square 64x64px, using only 4 colors of your choosing (you can use a ready made palette from Lospec or somewhere else), but each color have to be used on 25% of the canvas.
There will be +/- 1% margin of error allowed, so pieces where canvas is filled with four colors like this: 26%, 26%, 24%, 24% or like this: 26%, 25%, 25%, 24%, will be accepted.
We will be using this tool to check if the condition is met, and you can use it too if you do not have any other way. Please make sure of this, especially if you submit on sunday evening, becasue we will most certainly be checking last minute pieces on monday morning, and this will be too late for fixes.
Animation - no.
