The winners are cardo de comer, JamesTDG, velvetChaika, mrmunzzzz, NineBlackCats and ArseniiMolokov

The theme of the next challenge is Roman Empire. It will run until May 3rd.

What to draw:

  • The Roman Empire at its height — marble forums and triumphal arches, aqueducts, and coliseums roaring with the clash of gladiators;
  • Legions crossing the Alps, battles with the Carthaginians, Hannibal’s war elephants and the wild Celts; triumphal parades with golden chariots and laurel-crowned generals;
  • Cruel and decadent emperors — Nero playing the lyre as flames consume Rome, Caligula declaring war on the sea and naming his horse consul;
  • Early Christians hiding in catacombs, Caesar’s final breath, senators in heated debate, and she-wolve nurturing the founders of an eternal city.

What NOT to draw:

  • Anything depicting the fall of Rome, barbarian invasions, or the dark centuries that followed.

Hello everyone!! ♥ Welcome to a new Discord collab, the Album Art Collab!
For this collab we’re going to have you recreate your favorite album covers in a limited palette of your choice! Here are some examples we made!

https://i.imgur.com/K2xOZQq.png

Here are the rules:

  • For completing your first album you will get a cool trophy for your profile! You can continue claiming albums but will only get the single trophy for your first piece.
  • Pick one album cover to claim (one at a time, finish before starting a new one.)
  • Ask if it's open or check the google doc.
  • When claiming specify which year your album comes from if it has multiple pressings.
  • Produce a WiP within a week, finish within a month for any piece you claim.
  • Claims are first come first serve. You may sprite reissue albums of albums already taken if they have different art. This also counts CDs with slip covers that do not match the cover on the booklet.
  • For Japanese albums/reissues you may choose to include the obi. This will not count as a unique album like the above rule. (ie. if you do Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" Japanese release with an obi this counts as doing the cover for the album in general, thus others will not be able to take it unless it has fully unique art.)
  • You may pick between vinyl or CD covers. Cassettes will not be accepted unless they have square art. Inserts, backs, or art on the CD will not be counted (you can always do them for fun!)
  • Video game albums are fine as well, as long as they have official album art!
  • Pick your palette. Aim for closeness, color pick use a palette, your choice! Max is 16 colors!
  • No editing album art (ie. greyscale, cropping, etc. unless it already exists in an official capacity.)
  • 48x48 only, no animations and no transparency.

Optional Things:

- Pixel the backs, disc, or inserts if you want!
- Send us a link to listen and we'll add it to the doc! (YouTube, Bandcamp, etc.)

Helpful Links:

I suggest looking up your album of choice here: https://www.discogs.com (Search your artist of choice, find the album, click and view the art in the list or the image in the top left of the page!)

We are stopping Weerdmeester Streak to become foolish once again (it is still April).

Draw and animate Tipleloop riding a bike 14000km over the land and the sea to not-cancel Weerdmeester. You can freely interpret this phrase. It can be a sprite or a scene. You only have to animate Tipleloop and her bike to qualify, so if you go for a background, animating it is totally optional. The meaning of "bike" is as wide as possible. It can be a mountain bike, cargo bike, hybrid bike, motorbike, rail bike, water bike, hoverbike, unicycle, space bike, or vintage penny-farthing. If you don't know how Tipleloop looks, you can check the Class Photo collab or use your imagination.

You have to use the palette Bad Idea'18 by Tipleloop.

Canvas Size - Max 300x200.
Colors - Max 18 (19 it you use transparency).
Transparency - Optional.
Animation - Required.

The challenge thread will have all the challenge updates. The thread is also a great place to post your WIPs.
